    Hairstyle Equality

Lately it seems with most patches, nearly all of the hairstyles are for both genders. Yes the clothing for males and females could use a little more equality, but the hairstyles truly are coming a long way from just being male/female exclusives. I just want to say thank you to SE for not gender locking most of the recent hairstyles. Please keep going in that direction. What I hope next is for gender neutral hairstyle access in the future of the mogstation, but I know Yoshi P has limited control of that. Hopefully in the future that will be encouraged.

    cool that you like it.

I dont like only having these many "neutral" options on glams and hairstyles.

I want feminine stuff, catering to female chars. Give me more long, feminine hair styles.
Give me more fancy feminine caster robes/dresses etc.

To hell with this "equality". It's limiting my options.

And many of my guy friends HATE how half of their options are too girly.

Honestly, I'm willing to bet that a big part of the community dislikes this kinda somewhat Unisex thing SE is pulling there.

The most ironic part? Youre thanking them for bringing equality when in reality, its SE trying to safe time by not having to double their work by designing stuff for each gender separately.

Masculinity has been contorted into basicness. What options can they honestly give these people? It seems like they hate creativity. As for the feminine, you're getting a pony tail with a very feminine quality tonight. Enjoy it.

While they're not exactly "girly", the Cinque and Sice hairstyles are so bad on guys... honestly, the only guy that has pulled Cinque's is Cyr from the HW Hildibrand quests. The rest look good from what I've seen, on guys.

But yes, there is a clear lack of feminine styles, and the unisex hairstyles are to blame... but the community requested it...

So bad on guys? What are you talking about. It looks good on everyone except Roes, and Highlander's. I think it's just you.

If it was just me, my post wouldn't have garnered as many likes as it did.

While I agree with your post, I'd prefer they first fix the clipping issues with the hairstyles we do have already. I believe they said longer hairstyles would be harder to implement because of this and other limitations that I can't remember right now. My poor husband always gets shafted on his char though, I wish there were better outfits for men too. I want more uniqueness!

Only realistic option to fix hair problems is to use something similar to pure hair technology (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrhSVcZF-1I), that comes to a huge performance cost (meaning player with modest setup are out of luck) and it's only really viable for your character at the moment (DEVS are still forced to do non pure hair models).

The other one is to adapt each single hair to each piece of gear and that's is not cost effective for SE (it's the same reason about why they use "neutral" design for gear).

Or they could try and do what Harada did for Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. They built a system just for one character's hair: Lili. Back on the PS3. It's still the hands down best hair I have ever seen in a video game. On. A. PS-freaking-3. Needless to say, it's gotten better on PS4.
Lili on PS3 and PSP running on PS2 era graphics.
    Lili on PS4

IJS. Namco did it for PS3. I'm not saying it wouldn't be costly nor am I saying it would be easy for SE to implement it. (Although a small part of me snickers at SE's "cutting edge pure hair technology" when they are technically 10 years late to the party.)
