For a long time now Square Enix refuses to make any healer gear that is explicitly designed for males.
If you look at the healer gear contest winner right now, you\\'ll see that it\\'s designed for females... The artist didn\\'t even make an ounce of an attempt at a male design. Yet we\\'re still getting that for Stormblood (it will be the initial tomestone gear).
It\\'s really really difficult to find healer gear that looks good on males.
I have several solutions:
1. Allow people to glamour caster gear onto healer gear and vice versa (excluding job-specific gear). They are both somewhat alike so I see no reason not to do it.
2. Make healer gear that is both fitting on males and suitable for healing lore and aesthetic wise. (Stuff like Sky Rat do not count - they are all the same/similar across different roles)
3. Abandon the idea that healer/casters must wear robes. Robes hinder movement and a healer needs to be on the move as much as any other job. BLMs are the most stationary job in the game yet they are getting the caster SB tomestone gear which looks mobile and cutting-edge. Healers need to move more than BLMs yet all they get are robes and weird jester clothes.
I know people will start saying "but healers don\\'t need to move that much". But that is untrue, you need to move a lot. WHMs have the lowest mobility but you need to stay at melee range because of Fluid Aura. Scholar has tons of instant-cast GCDs for weaving and movement. Astrologians have an instant-cast-buff... All three have higher mobility than BLMs and are designed explicitly to encourage movement (or stay at melee range in the case of WHMs).
Whereas BLMs have an entire toolkit designed to encourage them to NOT move. Yet they\\'re getting a super mobile tomestone caster gear. Maybe it's because Yoshi P plays BLM so he's hogging all the cool glamours for himself....
Why can\\'t we get the same for healers too? You could just color the gear white or something to show the difference.
And why does healing gear always look white? Why can\\'t it be blue or red or green or something?
At this point I\\'m hoping they\\'ll release Dancer as a surprise third job so we at least get some unique glamours in Stormblood.
