Probably so that all the people wanting SB info aren't camping media outlets and refreshing all day before it's lifted causing heavy server loads, etc.
usually the first rule of being in a NDA involves not talking about having a NDA...
Why would you need to know? Just ask the person who knows the secret what it is and promise that you'll tell no one else. Works every time.

People who have NDA, beta, review and advance copies typically have an embargo date that means that you can not release any information until after that date passes. That gives the people with that information enough time to do whatever job they are assigned for it.
If you have an actual NDA for a game, you aren't even supposed to disclose the fact that you have one. That's usually enough to get sued. If it's just a NDA until X date embargo, then it still applies. Breaking it usually means being sued for damages and termination of all further involvement with that company.

If you're referring to the media tour. They have one because they haven't gone through EU yet. So if NA were allowed to put up videos, there really wouldn't be any point going to EU since all the information would be available.

The EU media tour happened around the same time as the liveletter, so it's done already. And the question wasn't about why there was an NDA. The question was why they couldn't say when the embargo lifted.

Ayo dawg we heard you like embargoes...
