Unable to Complete Version Check [MAC]

Then trying to log in to the game I get the following error:

"Unable to complete version check.
[30410][30607][10009][12057]"

Last time I played before this error: the day before (approx. 16 hours earlier)
I noticed this error happens more often and have searched the previous threads for solutions - nothing works.

Things I have tried so far:
- restarting the game client (over 20 times now)
- restarting the computer (2 or 3 times)
- restarting the modem and router
- tethering from my phone (2 or 3 times)
- changing DNS to 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.1.1 / 4.2.2.1 and several others suggested in forums or elsewhere online (about 5 or 6 different numbers)
- locating my boot file and changing the setting so the client will update - can't find the file on my Mac. Happy to try this again if anyone can tell me where to find the file.

The only option I can still think of is re-downloading the entire game client. Since my connection is very slow, this will take me approx. 3 days, so if anyone can think of anything else to try, please help.
