The Icepick Challenge

Can someone tell me how you are supposed to do this stupid quest!?

Seriously.

They stick your quest fish in a pool where there's a bunch of other crap that bites on your bait (why they have Lv35 fish that are constantly wasting your time is beyond me).

I've tried both the Stonefly Nymphs and the Larva, the former seems slightly better at catching the stupid Icepicks, but yet no matter which bait I use, there's 30+ catches I might see ONE Icepick.

This means that using Patience isn't going to work, 90% chance the 3 fish I can catch during it aren't going to be Icepicks anyways.

And of course, just catching the fish normally, I can HQ every-freaking-thing else, probably caught like 15 HQ Ice Faeries and 5 HQ Sorcerer Fish, but only ONE Icepick.

One.

And of course the quest won't stop at one, oh no. They want THREE.

I'm probably going to be Lv60 before this stupid quest is done.

Are all the HW Fisher Quests this retardedly stupid or something?

EDIT: .........aaaaaaand now I can't fish there anymore, despite releasing every single fish I caught. *sigh*

Oh that quest is a pain in the butt, I agree >.> I like to catch my own fish for FSH quests, and use this site for optimal bait and best time/weather... got one icepick lol. Ended up buying the other two off the MB in the end with all the fish i managed to get Doesn't help I'm not the most patient of people when it comes to fishing.

Apparently the only "reasonable" way to do this quest is to be highly over-leveled and use bait you can't normally get when the quest is available (Goblin Jigs).

Badly designed quest all the way around. Nearly impossible for Lv51 when you first get it.

Well fishing is based on bait, weather, time and rng so....time and patience, been there and done that

They're all poorly designed.
One Man's Fish is Another Man's Poison (the next quest in the chain) took me almost 12 hours real time. Granted, I was in unmelded HQ whites at the time, but when you're leveling that should be about normal for the difficulty level.
Once you become overgeared, they are ridiculously easy.

That still would not have satisfied the quest. It works fine for levequests, but all of the quests post-50 have a "catch" requirement that specifically prevents simply buying the fish and turning it in.

I assure you that I did these quests last week 52-60 and purchased fish worked for all of them.

For the poor design of Fsh, fishing quests and location you need only look at Mogpom. They're a lv53 fish only appear in one lv56 fishing hole and require lv58 bait to get.
