New Character Queue for Overpopulated Servers

I was thinking as a way to address the issue of character creation on overpopulated servers if instead of the current method, whereby after creating a character certain servers cannot be selected, a player could choose to join any server but if a server was overpopulated instead of loading in they would receive a message notifying them that the server is too crowded and that they have been entered into a queue and then once their character had made it onto the server an email could be sent to their account email address informing them their character is now available to be played.

Thoughts? I will be the first to admit I know nothing about how this would be done, or the work involved to implement it but it was a thought I had and I figured I'd share.

We dont need to make it easier to overpopulate overpopulated servers... they just locked overpopulated servers for transfer.
Your idea of a queue would implicate that there is going to be room on that server. When there isnt going to be because that would require people to leave the server first...

I see that you are on Balmung and that sever is full. Period. You're saying it yourself: Its overpopulated. Done. End of the line. If a server is already overpopulated we dont have to stuff more people in there.

Gather on another server with whatever people you want to gather with.

You forget the fact that such a queue would be taken over by bots immediately if this is ever implemented. No legitimate player would ever be able to get in, period.

Sure why don't we ask them to make servers for only raiders, for crafter, for gatherers, for Lalafels, for Miqotes, for Roes, for Elzen, for Hyurs? Once you understand how costly and plainly stupid it would be to do that, you'll understand that people who want to RP just need to come to the conclusion that there are other worlds that are available to be populated, Mateus comes to mind with only having around 4,500 players per the March census. If you want to RP make a new character on a new server, start a discord/fb page and spread the word. Its really not that hard.
