Not sure who this is directed at or what your point is, but...Tseng, Luzzu, Yaag Rosch, Kiros Seagill. All relatively minor characters so you can't accuse me of being a casual fan or just looking up protagonist names or something.
Also Sephiroth, Seymour, Kuja, Gladiolus, and Wol (Mobius edition), because this series is no stranger to the scantily clad male form.
Even though I disagree with the sentiment of the person asking to block glamours clientside, you're right there is nothing inherently wrong with it. In fact, FFXI added a setting that would render all PC's looks as "static". Meaning they all look like they were wearing their level 1 starter gear so that the incessant blinking from gear swapping wouldn't bother other players. However they later added a costume system that made it a moot point anywaySnide side comments aside (on both sides) , is it that bad to ask to be able to force your personal client to render other players as "basic" gear? Aside from personal tastes, it might (slightly) help those with poor internet connections since no requests for other players appearances would be necessary.
It wouldn't affect your game at all.
I wouldn’t have a problem with this.
This way people can dress how they want and others don’t need to see people dressed a certain way if they’re uncomfortable with it. It’s a Win/Win.
Except when you get that feeling in the back of your mind that you probably look like trash on another person’s screen.
Bard's performance can cause anything from annoyance to actual issues depending on a person's sensitivity to that sort of sound, see this thread for an example. Saying that's comparable to people who feel uncomfortable at a naked Roe who, other than existing, is not impacting them in any way is factually wrong (and why is a naked male Roe the reason for this request and not the naked catgirls all over the place hmmmmmmmmmmmm I wonder such a mystery)

Woah woah.. backup the snippy train there.
Do I really need to cite EVERY SINGLE EXAMPLE of what people might not want to see? It's NOT the reason in particular I'm just using something that a large majority of the playerbase, these being straight males , could possibly empathize with. So sure, naked catgirls, scantily clad potatoes and what the heck, too much skin or weird glamours on a Hyur as well. Some people don't want a miniature pig mascot breaking the look of a dungeon run either, or an all gold pajama tank with a sleepy cap on.
All of these are great reasons to allow people to have "default" skins for other players. Not seeing these does NOTHING to you personally and has no impact on your enjoyment of the game unless that enjoyment comes from knowing you're forcing your particular brand of dress sense on someone else, in which case .. your enjoyment sucks.
What if people get triggered by naked people running at them, or have a fear of mascots or animatronics? People can and will do unpleasant things using emotes and these cannot be blocked. These sound silly but it's just as valid as your sound issue.
Get off your high horse and realize other peoples problems are just as valid.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
I never said any of those concerns aren't valid, simply asked not to compare sensory issues with likely homophobia. And I can imagine how seeing a large naked male Roe or Highlander running at them might trigger certain victims of sexual abuse, in which case if they were at least dressed it would lesser the impact. But no one comes up to SE and asks them to do that for those reasons. No one asks them to tame the naked Miqo population because of their religious beliefs or what not. This thread and the likes of it is where you'll see those requests pop up, supported by how long it's taking the devs to even implement the damned thing in the first place. At the very least, I doubt the guy who originally asked for it has your levels of philanthropy.
Some people would see the content is available and just never play the game, or encounter it once and never load the game again. Just because nobody has broached the subject on the forums , which are a horribly limited and vocal sample of the playerbase, doesn't mean it shouldn't be considered.I never said any of those concerns aren't valid, simply asked not to compare sensory issues with likely homophobia. A decent idea coming from a bad source doesn't make it a bad idea.
Solutions to people having crippling reactions to something in game that could be fixed with simple software solutions don't need to be belittled just because the root cause doesn't come from the same place.
All of that being said, I suffer from none of that but I can see the benefit of the option as well as the fact that if someone doesn't want to see something in game and it can be adjusted without impact to the rest of the playerbase, it's worth considering. It's multi-beneficial and little to non-detrimental. Why even argue not?
I support whatever bunny-bustier or outfit thing SE has or has not actually designed for "males" in this game. It's fine, the more clothing options the better as far as I'm concerned. But the "I don't want to see these things" vote is just as valid. In this case the request for a bunny outfit came first, so yes that should be concentrated on first..
but wouldn't it be great if these other things were available?

1. Please stop strawmaning me. I never said that option shouldn't be implemented, only to not pretend like the reason it was brought up here is noble.
2. Please stop derailing this thread. If you wanna champion that cause, make a new one.
This thread shouldn't help support another cause when the one it's actually championing has been rudely denied us for literal years.
