    DRG 4.0- Devs- please don't get rid of Ring of Thorns!

    Hi,

    I have heard that Ring of Thorns-which has a cool animation is going to be removed. Which is really sad news b/c that means we looks a cool looking attack and an aoe choice.

    Instead I purpose that Ring of Thorns's potency be increased without the Heavy Thrust combo so that players have more choices for AOE damage.

    Please get rid of Heavy Thrust- its redundant to keep applying it just for more crit

    If there is no concrete place it's stated that it was removed by the development team, no one knows what is in or out outside of what is stated. At this point any changes will not happen till a major patch. Wait to freak out till the expansion hits as no one knows what to expect aside from the actual shown footage.

    The showcase of skills had the mention and warning not to take the skills seen as a complete list or showing of each classes full kits. It's fun to speculate (Or in the WHM threads- freakout), but we don't have that much information.

    Ring of Thorns is indeed the name of the spammable move. I put up with that spam at times myself. Doom Spike requires a targeted enemy, Ring of Thorns does not.

    Doom spike has always been the go to weaponskill for DRG aoe. So buffing that and removing RoT makes most sense when looking to cut out an ability. Plus, the development team has mentioned a focus on removing redundant or unnecessary abilities to help bring up the bottom of the skill curve and to prevent ability bloat. And removing RoT accomplishes both of these things. Also, it seems like with geirskogul and now the new ability (nastrond?) DRG has a frontal focus on their aoe. So keeping doom spike as the go to aoe weaponskill would keep with that and allow you to line up your abilities and weaponskills for aoe.

    With that said, I do have some sentimental value for RoT. So I may log on the last day before maintenance and do some RoT spam while I still can. But I welcome the change because it feels like an overall improvement for the class and how people play it.

    I completely 100% agree as much as I'd hate to see that cool animation go away...
