I see where you're coming from. Sure it would be nice to have a blacklist system but at the same time, I'm pretty sure SE has better things to be doing than cater to those who hasn't learnt the basic playground ability to ignore and avert their eyes. That's your block feature right there.....and haven't we learnt by now that trolls want attention? Learn to ignore them.Um, see the thing is, it's a personal thing, and the forum client allows personal configuration, so if some users don't wish to see crap posts by irritating posters, they have the ability to use the forum client to block them. All the crap you posted about hurting others precious feelings is simply passive aggressive abuse and insult. Of course my complaint to you a bout that will be evience of my calling for a safe space (which I am not suggesting). Perhaps the adult thing to do here is not to belittle others for wishing to prevent themselves from being annoyed by Internet trolls, and instead speak constructively.

I think there is an element of entertainment staying fun.. because that's it's purpose and you're paying for it, which means lowering bad stressors and meeting expectations with good stressors; although, this in terms of communication leads to safe spaces... but at the same time I'm very leery of everyone getting to make their own impenetrable echo chambers.
Impenetrable echo chambers absolutely will encourage the child like rampages we've seen grow (internet in general), probably in part to just the internet's ability to give everyone a loud speaker.. but I do think everyone going off to their own corner of thugs is a problem.
Now this is a game so maybe its not the best place to fight for the right to be offended but.. dunno.. if every place becomes just another place to relax then all places become some sort of mad house of ignorance. So I'm not really set that a game place has to be so concerned, but a place of knowledge should (like a school) - all this silencing speech cause someone's feefees got hurt.. You go to learn and getting a bit of dirt is important part of learning, being wrong is an important experience. As for the forums there is in part of sampling a diverse base, and perhaps seeing the turmoil better helps SE and they may /want/ to see that chaos if it would exist, and I mean specifically on game design desires.. so i'm not defending chaos of all threads.. just those that help SE learn their players.
Basically I have no solution and I'm rooting for both sides. Have fun lol.

Alternatively you could just
like
not click on it
Or hover over it
The request being made has nothing to do with a threads title being offensive. But asking for a feature that would leave some sort of notification that a threads OP is on your ignore/block list. You'll have to forgive me if I don't memorize every name that ends up there.
The irony here is too much. People proclaiming themselves too mature, too awesome, advocates of free speech and dissenting opinions far above other mere mortals, and then turning around to insult, belittle, and degrade others who don't think like they do.
I couldn't care less whether they put in the ignore function for the forums. But with huge hypocrites like some of you, I can definitely see why many would want it.
Passive aggression - the feature
Because it's a forum not an instant messenger. The way the account authentication is integrated would never allow for this to work anyway. Most forum systems, if you put someone on block/ignore, it blocks the direct messages, and if it supports it, hides their posts in a thread, but not anything that has been quoted.
