2. (Me) Absolutely... It's why I can do 5 Fire IV's instead of 4 Fire IVs as a BLM, and have 10.5k MP where other SMNs only have 9.5k, ie a full Ruin 3 more than they do.

I got two builds for my smn the raid one with 1270 crit 590 det 746 ss and a casual time stasis build with 830 crit 615 det 1250 ss. even with 1250 ss I never felt the need of extra piety one more fire 4 or ruin 3 isnt worth the loss in crit/ss for more mp. although I like exotic builds please don't spread that piety is the stat to go for caster (smn)... it definitely isnt and will never be a primary of the casters secondaries : o

....Says the person who was *shocked* people used Ruin 3 outsided of Trance in the first place... who apparently didn't realize you actually CAN use it out of Trance and be doing constant 200 potency single target damage... instead of 80 potency single target damage. No wonder YOU don't think you need Piety gear.



And by the way that's not Ad Hominim... its from another thread Neela and I got into it on. Where she didn't know people were using Ruin 3 outside of trance now... like it was the new thing. The game changed... and now more people have the MP to use it outside of Trance.

This is exactly what I paraphrased. Instead of supporting your claim that piety is better than sps via a reasonable discussion as to what you get out piety, you instead attack her credibility over some other issue. I.e. ad hominem. My point stands.

I wanted to check your logs to compare them to other summoners and see if your extra ruinIII is worth the lost crit, but you don't have any logs on fflogs.

It was said before, but I want to add a little bit:
Best choice is to wait für stormblood to hit, because you will get new gear and can't get materia once melded back.

But! Blackmage will most likely still need a lot of spellspeed and crit (on pieces you can't meld spellspeed on) so it might be a good idea to buy some materia now while they are still cheap on the marketboard.
Of course just in case you don't have any/enough already and it is really cheap on your server.

I really wouldn't try arguing with this Silverquick individual. XD OP, I forgot to add in my original suggestion: start with maximizing as much Spell Speed as possible in your gear, and anywhere you can't meld Spell Speed, meld Crit. BLM stat weights (at least for the next couple of weeks) are SpSpeed > Crit.

I would call it a day but after he started with lies and calumny im pissed as well. I like discussions and openminded ted talks but not the way he goes for it. arrogant, complacent, condescendingly - without any substance. he looks down on smns (yeah not just me) who gathered experience over years. he takes things for granted, which are obviously not true at all. I said it before - its not about smns or the game itself - its about his poor character. its always the same with him starting big shouts, followed by insults leaving the conversation because "everything is said" (aka running out of arguments/points/claims) - I can't stand people like this neither in RL nor in an online community. and it's not just me...
