Suggested servers

As it happens in other games, isn't it nice to have the "suggested" flag on some server when you create a new character and need to choose your world? (or "low", "high", "new", "rp" tags, whatever)

Suggestions doesn't "force" no one go there, people still can choose, and SE's ones are just hints.

When I play the game for my very first time, and I see there is a selection of worlds, I'll explore that and to me all worlds are equal, unless I see those tags, that may help me decide where to go.

It may be extended to datacenters as well, especially if the players isn't "exactly" in the supported regions. Choosing datacenter, the client may "ping" them and flag to you the ones that seems to be the best choices (other than the text telling you which region they cover).

Thing is if se decide to put that suggest in to the server, they will be held responsibility regarding how that server will change in the future. I'm pretty sure se doesn't want to take more responsibility that they have now.

They already pick a server for you on character creation to which you can deny and select your own. Unless I don't remember that update correctly.

Yes they do. What the criteria is used for the pick, I can think of lowest populated but dunno if confirmed. It will be funny to create a new character and then see Balmung as picked up server.

"populated" and "active character" may be quite different, 'tho, I think created characters but never or played 5 min per month, does needs not enter the computation.

Datacenter ping may be nice for who plays "borderline" between datacenters.

I just want Gil restrictions removed. There's no much of a point having it as Every world got their own crafters with 999.999.999 already. Transfering with 80 million or 1 won't make any difference

So maximum that you can take to another server is 50million (if u have 8 retainers)

Some of us has crossed the half billion plus mark and cause of the server move I cannot "just" transfer due to the amount of money i got saved.

SE team are worried that for people like us , we are gonna ruin the economy of others servers when in reality each server by now got their own billionaires. So making a transfer with all my Gil won't make any difference. Hence why I ask for no Gil restriction.

In every game, the "suggested" server is simply which server the game got the lowest number when it gave it a quick ping. Considering how wildly a ping can fluctuate due to any number of a myriad of factors, these systems are almost completely worthless. I've personally seen games recommend me to use EU servers before, even though they have NA servers located about 100 miles from me. The current system where it just simply tells you what region each of the servers is for, is objectively the better system.
