once every week this kind of topic pop out and yes people are getting tired of it

What can you do? To be honest, nothing. I've seen my share of lazy healer and trust me, in the future you shrug it off because it become normal Routine later on, thankfully the game is designed to be more on casual playground so the job still done despite their lazy work.

Seriously, did they heal? Nobody die? Finish the dungeon in "okayish" time? If yes then just go on your merry way, thing could get worse sometimes, i see lazy healer BUT still doing their "core" role which is heal, and i see dead lazy healer who didnt even do their core job properly.

Yoshi has stated multiple times that content is not designed with healer dps in mind, and healers should not feel required to dps. The notion that healers should dps is purely the community.

That being said, the community is what matters.

There's basically nothing Yoshi or any developer can say that will make idle healers be valued. From a business standpoint, of course they want every paying customer to be able to enjoy the game; from a community mental health standpoint, they aren't going to prevent healers' ability weave damage in with healing actions. They know full well that healers do not need 100% uptime on healing spells, and they definitely aren't going to start designing content that requires that kind of spam.

To be fair, most MMOs don't require 100% uptime on healing, but they prevent healer DPS by either making healer offensive spells ridiculously weak, or severely restricting their mana supply so that it isn't viable. Otherwise you squeeze a smite in when you can, but you have to hold off on too much or you won't have the mana to heal when you need it.

FFXIV typically doesn't go this route, and fights are less healing endurance matches and more mechanics dances. Avoiding damage is the design rather than tons of unavoidable smacks, and that's ok, it works for this game.

There's nothing wrong with healers being able to DPS, and it's a mark of an active participant to get the most out of yourself, which will be even easier now since you no longer have to stress about cleric stance locking you out.

If you are getting carried through content and only healing when someone is below 50%, and otherwise doing nothing, I am going to vote kick you. The DPS and Tank are not there to do all the work to get Healers through the easy content. DPSing as a healer is being a team player and reducing the amount of damage your team takes.

Not playing as a member of the team is an dick move and will get you kicked from my parties.

Pretty much. A non-DPSing healer has the cushiest job in the game; only a handful of actions to choose from, no requirement or expectation to Always Be Casting, no rotation required to fulfill primary Job function, no resource management issues...follow party through dungeon, step out of yellow circles if you feel like it, get tomes and loot.

Like previous post said, its all depend on the community. 70% of the time i play as healer i always lean toward "lazy" healer as in heal only and only dps occasionally, and so far i never get booted, in fact half the time the party (especially the dps) just leisurely chatting with me or doing stupid stuff (dance emote, circle jumping, memes etc)

i guess i got lucky with my server

Fun is subjective. I have zero issue if the party wants to take it easy and take time out to chat or do whatever as long as it isn't a case of one or two party members holding everyone else hostage because they want to dance while the majority wants to keep moving.

Exactly. I've had some excellent dungeon wheres are we memed it up and wound up taking longer because everyone decided to mess around. Key word being everyone. I've also had a few instances where a healer hopped around the map and spammed the occasional emote or never touched Cleric in PotD of all places. It's the latter that annoys people because they're not in on your "fun."

Nobody holding hostage, they dance and move on when the mobs dead, again people have their own way to experience stuff, you may not find it fun but for them that is fun, thus i said depend on the community.

You cant expect everyone to have playstyle like you, there are thousand and more player playing this game and each of them has their own share of fun, all i can say is if you dont like the way certain player do things, just shrug it off and move on or block/blacklist them maybe? So you never meet with them again in the future party.
