Bastion ESRB rating: E10+
Next argument please.
If you're feeling low, count on the buttery flavor of our own Bastion Bourbon.

I want screen effects like:
Blind: Your screen seems darker than usual.
Stunned: Your screen seems freeze.
Paralized: You cant move your camera.
Sleep: Your screen moves slightly like doze.
Poisoned: your screens turn a little green or purple.
etc
I really like these ideas! Though I think it might be annoying for some to be unable to move camera, etc. for some fights...
I think I'd be happy to see some of the classic effects : black bubbling smoke over eyes for blind, yellow tiny sparks surrounding your body for paralyze, character tinted green or purple for poison as well as poison bubbles emanating from your body, etc.
this would be great for the pvp, kinda like a shooter twist. visual effects to our moves could be fun.
As long as drunk players have a +80% gravity effect, have their accuracy reduced to that of an XI Dark Knight and aren't allowed to ride chocobos, sure, put it in.
It may harm the ESRB rating to simulate intoxication. "Use of Alcohol" could push the game towards an "M" rating, and that really isn't worth it.

I have this everyday after drug store visit. No need to wait till something like this is implented into online game. Many MMORPGS and other offline games allow characters to drink or ingest substances that alter their character's perception of the world around them. Will FFXIV ever allow us to buy a pint at the pub and experience similar effects? Is this something players want, or are you fine with it never being incorporated?
I know this is not a pressing issue and the devs have many things to do before they even consider it, but it is one of the many things that other games incorporate which increases verisimilitude.
Personally, I think intoxicated fisticuffs (once PVP is implemented) would be amusing with inverted controls and blurred vision.
What are your thoughts on the matter, fellow forum dwellers?
I always wonder why people want this in other games, it's like, you use it once and it lost it's fun aspect after that.
Risking a higher rating over it is just not worth it.
Alcohol references are fine though, pirates without alcohol is just..wrong.
But making it available to the player is a whole different thing.
