    Combos? Fix Server Lag!

So after watching the Ability Trailer, combos seem to be in, so thoughts of Ninjutsu come into mind. The NA DC upgrade has increaced instability on the server level, where as raids wipe because the server chugs and people are not able to move out of stuff they need to.

Like ARR Titan Hard/Ex...oh wait lost 5 people to Titan Ex YESTERDAY cause server chugged and they got chucked, thank goodness for unsynch... 24 mans too

I have my suspicions, while I could not check/confirm the status of everyone in these groups, or did not think to at the time, it MAY be linked to PS3 players. It occurred to me, with PS3 support being tossed a month from these upgrades, why would they put in PS3 supported hardware for just that time? -- Upon that possibility it makes sense it could be because the PS3 players are having to connect to separate old servers that can easily be disconnected that month later, so this server lag is the result of hardware/software conflicts. (maybe)

The servers are not lagging lol. If anything, you got paired with a bunch of people on bad connections

If that were the case, its a bit too convenient given if I run with 4 or 8 people from Bryn, I have yet to experience such issues since the DC upgrade, that said nobody i run with on Bryn uses a PS3. 1000 character limits are rather troublesome when trying to make a comprehensive post.

You can edit posts and I been talking about this issue for a while, in short the game does need better coding and get rid of delays on abilities just because the dev thinks it is "op" we need to be able to depend on abilities working, and this issue is part of the reason people kept complaining about cleric stance.

After you make your post, edit it and you can bypass the 1000 character limit.

But, there isn't specific "PS3 supported hardware" on the Datacenter servers. All of that kind of translation is handled with software in the netcode which, as far as I'm aware, hasn't changed with the server move. Now, the current netcode might not be optimized for the new server infrastructure they're running on now which could cause issues, but this has nothing to do with them deciding let PS3 performance degrade by intentionally not including some special kind of hardware (which doesn't exist, by the by).

PS3 isn't running on separate servers and the only hardware they need for PS3 players to connect are the same network ports connecting to everyone else. The hardware specific components for PS3 players stops at the PS3. The data connections to the server are standardized to the same packet formats for everyone. -_-

Before the servers were relocated, my ping was an average of 80ish. I did not have much fluctuation, more like the range was 60-100.

After the server move, my average ping sits around 90-100. But, when I am in 24mans, my ping sits around 106 with spikes up to 190ish. While this is still under 200, the problem is that sitting around 100ish with the spike to 190ish is bad because that 190ish ping from a spike and then dropping back to 106ish means that there are packet loss. It is causing me to see everyone stop moving for that second or 2 till the ping drops back to 100ish.

I have confirmed with my friend who lives relative the same distance that he too see this.
