    A Good Read With Some Positivity About the New Changes

    http://twinfinite.net/2017/05/final-...ajor-problems/

    I know not everyone loves the new changes depending on what job you are, but I think it's good that we're finally starting to shed some of the old issues that have existed since 1.0 basically aka the strange class and cross-skill system that never fit with the game 2.0 on.

    I think the reason they wanted to hold off on adding more complicated roles like healer and tank this time around is because (and this been known) they genuinely want to tackle job uniqueness and balance and I have to believe all these dramatic changes are to do just that. Thoughts?

    I feel like the major changes like cleric , wm , etc are great adding utility to monk etc these things are great. But this cross role system isnt good imo , like it basically stole abilities from two main jobs as far as tank and healers and they have to just reapply what was already in thier tool kid mainly pali, and whm. I feel a better solution would have been if you only want to play one job fine, you no longer have to level for cross class now you can just have access to them. Instead they just cut abilities form jobs that actually where very useful and thats just not cool.

    @kuroneko

    Inner beast, and equilibrium are only active when your in tank stance which was fine before because you didnt lose anything from switching in and out between the two, now the video shows that you lose some gauge when you change stances makin it even more of a chose to chose between inner beast or fell cleave. Paladin and whm essentially have to buy their own skills back, provoke was already paladins so it never was a choice to get, nor was rampart, or conv, with whm, protect was already theres and cleric, and all the healers had their own esuna.

    So now we can very well have healers in content with poisons being with no cleanse I remember as a scholar when I first started playing this wasnt fun at all. Even tho it wasnt theirs now every job essentially has one offensive buff to boast their dps with each role having raging, internal release, blood for blood each job only has one these . Also stuns , now each tank aside from pali have a stun choice that does no damage that is a loss I see loses everywhere with very few gains. Because the thing is regardless of how easy you make the game if people have no desire to raid or do extreme primals then you just made these changes for nothing cause while their are wipes in dungeons even with horrible players its easy to get through them, so instead of changing things they should have encouraged people to want to get better and do content outside of their comfort zone.

    seems Ive reached my limit even tho its carrying over from yesterday so dum how they do this forum stuff

    Can you give some examples please? And please emphasize the difference between a job losing an "essential" part of its level-given toolkit and a skill it acquires via cross class currently.

    I'm personally somewhat concerned myself about certain skills "vanishing" (and that part is in quotes because until we get our hands on the localized version of the game where we can read all the tooltips and know precisely what each and every button on our hotbars does, we actually still do not know everything yet) but I'm going to remain optimistic.

    People can claim there will be a meta and specific skills will be "required" but that's only if you allow it to be enforced. I'm looking forward to experimenting and finding what works in 4.0.
