I still plan on playing the new expansion for a few months minimum for two reasons. 1) In my opinion, until these boosts and shit, FF14 was the highest quality MMORPG on the market right now and 2) Other games have attracted communists and kids who bitch and cry that they want our content easier and quicker and more accessible without actually working for anything. FF14 isn't even close to that yet so I'm still good here. Good community

No worries on the lack of quote. These forums are really wonky sometimes, haha.

I'd... have a hard time arguing that it's not a handicap, for sure. I guess it's just a difference in viewpoint when it comes to that -- I don't really care if other players choose to use a handicap to catch up; I wouldn't choose to, because why would I want to miss out on all that content I could have played instead? They're cheating themselves more than they're cheating you, at least as far as I see it.

Not to pester you, but what value do you see being killed?

I'm glad there are restrictions. And there are no jump potions for crafting and gathering

I'm still against it and always will be, but also understand why they are necessary. I guess it will also cost them several things that we gain naturally over the course of time of leveling: gil, company seals, tomes, valuable item drops, dungeon glamour, bragging rights, the list goes on.

I will always recommend experiencing the MSQ, and raising at least one class from the ground up. But for those without that desire, they're still pretty limited. Only one of each potion per account, DoL and DoH will still start from level 1 if they choose that path, and they still have to raise their iLv. I believe the RDMs and SAMs will have augmented ironworks gear to start, and if that is the case, I would imagine those who hop to level 60 will get their AF2 sets. i210 will get you into a decent amount content.

All that said, whether or not a new player chooses to jump, it doesn't affect me in any way. It is totally their money, and their choice.

From your posts it seems you have built up XIV to be something in your head that it's not. FFXIV has some very easy content - about 6 fights per tier are considered hard (4 raid fights, 2 trials) and they literally shower you with gear and nerfed content every few months to increase accessibility. The devs try their best to keep everyone as near to current content as possible regardless of their skill level.

I'm less concerned about the level boosts than the MSQskip ones but at the very least I am happy they aren't cheap. If someone simply has to skip the msq or can't put forth the effort to level a job, they can pay a nice chunk of change to support my game. :P

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?

Yeah, but this is FFXIV. The problem is the fanatical MMO players want every MMO they play to have similarities. I only play FFXIV I can care less about other MMO's and what they have or had in them. If ppl didn't like the game after 2.0 they should've went back to the one they were playing. The boosts arent the problem because you can STILL play at your own speed. The problem is the ever changin attribute system. IF you actually craft and meld. Which A LOT of players don't and are CRIT HIT crazy casual wannabe hardore players. I figured there was a reason players kept stacking CRIT. Turns out it was to influence this change.
