I would definitely like to see an effort on SE's part to support community-driven PvP events like the AetherCup, even if it's simple promotion of the event for further exposure. After seeing the stream yesterday, I realize a larger part of the issue with people's interest in PvP isn't just negative stereotypes without experience, but that SE/community reps don't seem to show much interest in it, and that's just not fair to both sides.
First and foremost, a better two-way communication with the community really needs to be established. We can put our heads together from there.
There is one positive we can take from this. That they want to do something, even if the thought wasn't completely there. I mean the first WoW IEM was terrible lol (although long games had a lot to do with that)
