Need those new changes now :O, will be so much more fun and even with everyone using the same small number of abilities. Much more of a skill check when you have a limited amount of abilities.

Very much looking forward to it... Hoping we'll also see new modes that we can play with our friends... 8 mans are fun, but only being able to queue with 2 can be frustrating...
Hopefully we'll learn about whatever this large scale PvP mode for Stormblood is, as we haven't heard much talk about it yet.

Less or limited abilities does not equate to a higher skill check. Having greater options and managing more available actions requires more skill.

The ability pruning is narrowing the massive gap in skill between players while also alleviating the supposed button bloat in PvP.

SE is effectively lowering the skill floor and ceiling for PvP. Allowing newer players to get into PvP.

If you're going to host PvP streams, at least learn the mode. The streams just make PvP look like a complete joke, and it speaks volumes on how little SE cares about its success. This is your job, your game, yet you know nothing about a mode you are assigned to host a stream for.

You don't need to be PvP masters, but not knowing basic things like what happens in a WHM vs WHM duel? What happens in 4 healer vs 4 healer? Will stone 3 one shot someone with enough stacks of culling? (hint: the max stacks of culling is 5, and there is no cleric stance)

It's pretty sad that a community driven event that was run for free was 100x better than any of these streams so far. SE needs to step up their game or just not even bother with these anymore.

Koltik's points are 100% on the money. I'd just like to address one minor grievance. . .

    It's pronounced "Machine-ist".
I'm a bit disappointed someone from SE might actually mispronounce it. It's even a real life profession, though obviously different from the in-game one.

Agreed on all counts. This was ridiculous.

Is it really too much to expect that people hosting an official stream know even the basics of the game they're going to commentate (also the game they literally work for lol)? Because from what we saw, it is. These two people didn't even know basic game mechanics (Sudden Death anyone?), not even counting basic meta knowledge (no, 4 healers vs 4 healers won't end up with anyone dying even at max Culling). Seriously, why not reach out to the community? Other games do it. I don't think SE has even acknowledged the Aethercup, which was 100X better, more professional, more entertaining and had better commentary than any of their official streams. They should be ashamed.

The aethercup is what a pvp shout cast should be like, especially the boxer vs primal matches.

Was so cringeworthy to be honest, you are in desperate need of actual experienced FF PvPers and eSports casters. There's one moment that sticks with me which is half way throw a match (where the only comment remotely related to the gameplay was a Paladin cover) one of the casters starts explaining the supply boxes in Feast. This is over like an hour into the stream btw lol - and she had to read it off the feast lodestone guide. Just sponsor the Aether Cup and be done with it, they know what they're doing and they'll only get better. I thought Lore was a really bad caster for BlizzCon, but he at least knows the very basics of how 3v3 Arena works and even if he talks complete rubbish sometimes, that's simply just his lack of exp at the highest levels, he's otherwise capable of at least explaining his opinions.

I'll never flame that afro head again.

E: Also god darn it those are the enemy frames I've been asking for.
