    I'm not sure about the Japanese, but "buddy" is already a synonym for companion in text commands:

    <c>, <comp>, <b>, <buddy>
    Displays your chocobo companion's name.

    Aww. And here I was excited that we might potentially get new companions. *sadface*

    I noticed on the MTQCapture Artifact Gear preview earlier today that there's a "Falcon Porter" NPC. Perhaps, instead of Moogle mail, they have Falcon mail -- like ravens from game of thrones!

    Yes Buddy is just the japanese version for our Companion. Koji Fox explained this, or someone did. Basically, Companion is a little complex for the average Japanese player/person, but they understand Buddy since it's simpler but conveys the meaning they wanted. But to an native english speaker, Buddy has a few meaning, the most known being friend. But the Chocobo isnt really a friend. So they used companion since it has a similar meaning but a different feel.

    I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

    If it means I can take a CUSTOMIZED Buddy with me. Ill be super happy!

    I did not leave FFXI without my Adventuring Buddy! Now with SAM coming back. He gets his Great Katana again with nice blue armor but comfy white slacks. Since a Tarutaru should have an easier time to {Run Away!}
