Age of War
For more inventory space, but quite inconvenient, bound items are left out the equation and only option there is Moogle's extra retainers.
More specialists and being able to raid with two statics/pug fights without screwing people from their loot.
I don't honestly understand the point of having an alt. It's like repeating what you already done as your main but... With a different account? I think is a right waste of time for doing something twice. Maybe is ok for specialist crafting classes but apart from that there's really no clear point for it
Hi, my name is Kasumi and I'm an altoholic. I do have plenty of alts I've created and started, and a few I have levelled to at least 50. My reasons being...
1. Like many other posters here, I'd rather use the alt slots that come with my sub rather than pay $10 to fantasia every time I want to play as a different race.
2. Each server has it's own sub-community or identity in a sense, and the social side of this makes playing through the game again feel like a new experience in my opinion.
3. When playing through the MSQ again, I continue to notice/remember slight details that bring a clearer context to the later MSQ and the game as a whole.
The MSQ and even gear progression can be quite a slog now at a few points, so this will likely be harder to do down the line, but for the time being, I find it enjoyable.
I love to create alt characters because I enjoy different character styles/races and alts are a cheap way to test them out without spending RL money on Fantasia. In addition, I like to repeat the MSQ because I enjoy the story and its characters. Therefore, I create alts from time to time. Even though, I usually stick to my main![]()
I made two alts to experience the other two starting city stories. Two more just for fun/goofing around with friends. Also to try out different races and genders without changing Eva (she wouldn't feel right as anything but a fem elf to me).
I enjoy leveling and questing so I tend to play the alts when I'm bored of the endgame gear grind on my main.
At the moment 3 of the alts are at the end of ARR/beginning of Heavensward while the 4th has just joined a Grand Company.
I don't plan on ever having my alts at the current expansion endgame as I don't want to feel like I need to keep up with multiple weeklies and tome capping.
Mainly for the extra retainers and gathering of material. Storage is good as well.
I do everything on my one character. I do have an alt to play with the Mrs. so I stay at her character and power levels.
I have a single Alt that I actually use. It's mostly for extra storage, since I don't want to pay for more retainers. However, it is also really convenient to use as a way to handle and move my FC's money. I store extra FC items and stuff that the FC plans to sell on her, that way anything she sells for the FC, the money doesn't accidentally get mixed in with my own. I have one retainer on her that I use for selling items when I have an excess of crafted items to sell and the other one is used almost exclusively to sell stuff for my FC.
