Do you play alt characters, if so why?

I love my alts. I can't imagine playing this game without them. They're a lot of work and as a result I'm never bored. I really wish we were getting a new race in Stormblood. I suppose i'll have to wait for 5.0

I have considered an alt or two, because I made my tank a giant sized Roegadyn Sea Wolf. That makes sense for a tank, but for the 15 levels I used her as a Conjurer...it just does not look right.

So I am pondering at least a pure healer alt who has all three healer jobs maxed, and I may go all the way to the other end and make her a Lala. I don't know if I can slog the MSQ again though.... =(

In a few weeks you can get the story skip potion. I've been pordering that for the alt I do things on regularly. She's 30 or so, and not wanting to do the quests again has been holding her back.

I don't really mind redoing quests on my alts I can just skip the cutscenes if I don't feel like rewatching them. It's the dungeons that annoy me. I probably have literally run sastasha and the other 2 starter dungeons in my sleep. I wish dungeon and primal requirements were account level. I find myself playing the character until there are zero quests left on the map and I have to do the dungeon just so the next set will pop.

I love playing different races. I love having characters in different servers and meeting different type of people and communities. And when leveling an alt usually I try a new job so i can improve playing with it.

I have... Five characters (including my main) through HW, three through 2.0...

Lol Mostly I just get bored and like to level. Sometimes its fun to run through the story again. Its also a good way of training for me, to run through on the story. My first alt was a BRD and I made her cause I wanted to have BRD equally geared with my DRG.
Then my second alt, a WAR, I made cause I wanted to learn to tank. I use to refuse to tank or heal and that helped me gain confidence.

I made another character on a server to play with some friend and then the rest was mostly boredom.

XD All cept two are femroe, and its pretty fun to play Male elezen.

Me and my wife are replaying the story with alts before Stormblood hits. There's so much i had already forgotten, so i'm glad we decided to do so. And the feel of a "fresh start" is also nice, as we're playing them on a different server than our main characters.

i control with my alt char 3x FCs and 12x BiS airships.
also use for fast gear up for diffrent jobs and savage ids and weeklies.

i'm rp'er so different characters is a must imo so i can have different types for people to choose from or if i'm just feeling a certain way i rp on an alt that best suits that mood plua i dont like having to fantasia and name change alot just to do a certain theme so this is best also imo being able to do it all on one character just seems boring with alts i get to think " Who will i pick for shenanigans to day?"

I've beein Tanking for about 10 years and never enterd Dps. Thus I now tried ninja as it allows me to think fast and move more freely than with my heavy weight War. SAM will be my last dps Alt.

I ment i was in love with my war, this sounded so gay.
