I have 4 alts that I use for glamour, free retainers, and so I can decorate more FC rooms. There are lots of glamours that I like, just not on my lalafels, so I made a cat girl and an au ra. I don't like to pay for extras, so when I start running out of space, I just make a new alt. The free characters is my favorite part of being Legacy.
Crafting alt, with the goal of making one account/chr a crafting main while the other does battle. I tried to have this in 2.0, was mildly successful, and 3.0 well my alt got access to late for it to matter.
Reason for this is pure inventory issues that I want one chr crafting while the other does combat but gating and specialization makes that SUPER hard.
I have an alt on Behemoth, which I use to play with friends but as of recent, those friends moved to my main server so that alt sees disuse now.
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
Yes, I have alts. All my characters exist outside of FF in roleplay so they have specific looks and personalities. Therefore, some classes don't make sense for some of them. So I play certain classes on certain alts. My hubby also doesn't play as much, so a couple keep pace with his characters. I'm also a crafter, so if I want to cover all specialties without having to swap back and forth, then I need two alts that are set for the 5 I can't do on my main crafter. I have my own FC, so the chest is open for me. A shared bank or the ability to mail your alts like EverQuest II had would be great, but unfortunately does not exist here.
Yep, I have many alts. Mostly just cause I like making characters and I hate being limited to one race.
I actually hate being able to be all classes on one character to be honest. Between that and so many basic little things being locked behind level 50, main scenario, and the inability to send yourself stuff, this game is extremely alt unfriendly. It makes it difficult to play them as much as I normally would in another game.
Truly makes me sad as I adore my lalafel so much. She would've been my main had my cousin not screwed me over when the game came out lol.
Also had a Moon'qote I lvl'd as well just cause I liked their fangs... though I changed her to Au'ra when HW came out.
When A Realm Reborn first launched it was only possible to do each raid instance once per week on a given character. I had more than 7 friends who wanted to do raid content so I created an alt to help out with a second raid group. My old character was a legacy character from 1.0 and had everything at 50 from the launch of ARR, but I like my new character more, I keep them both vaguely relevant because the old one has most of the crafting classes at 60.
To think that I have to get through All msq quests again ... urgh...
So no alt for me.
I pay for 6 months so I have the alt option anyway. I re-created an NPC one as a joke... and I grew attached to the lil spud. It was actually fun running the MSQ with an NPC face.Eventually caught up and geared for SB. I don't RP in game. I'm just running with the alt for shenanigans.
