Do you play alt characters, if so why?

I have two characters. They're both on different data centres entirely. I get to play on JP with my real life friends and fellow Australians, while I play on NA with my American friends.

I main Bard on my main and main Black Mage on my alt.
My main is a Miqo'te and my alt is an Au Ra. Yes, I chase tails all day.

The different servers have different peak times, therefore sometimes I log off my NA character (whose peak period is during my day) to jump on my JP character at night.

I play more on my alt at the moment since my classes are all 60 on my main and I'm leveling on my alt.

Getting Battle High/Fever in Frontlines are MUCH easier on NA than JP, so I casually have fun there. (Though I haven't played in ages since I heard about all the bots)

I wish I had the patience to make alts and different "characters", but I don't. My main is the only with multiple classes at 60. I do have another character I made to experience the MSQ again, but they now sit as an undergeared 60 because I can't be bothered going through two lots of roulettes per day.

I've also got a couple of alts on different servers for when I get the "different race" itch, but none of them are past 20. I can't justify putting the time into it, and going through the MSQ and fetch quests all over again is painful. I won't even get started on DoH/ DoL.

I had one I needed for a video clip once.
The video never made it out of the drawing board and preliminary clips sadly.

He's still hanging around but I have no reason to use him.

I leveled an alt specifically for additional storage (I use my FC's chest to transfer items) and so I can use my alts retainers in Stormblood to get me crafting mats.

I can't be all of the races at the same time. So I have alts.

And to give me an excuse to use at least one of them - I split some major classes between them. Makeda is all of the tank classes, Asante is all of the healer classes.

Nope. I find it pretty much not worth it to have alts. I can do everything on one character? i don't need alts for jobs/class's? well i guess im sticking with my current character!
