If Stormblood come out when Balmung open server?

I'm from Odin, europe.
But, my friend is in Balmung. I wanted join/transfer in same her server so bad.

I heard Balmung is long locked. I'm sadly and can't waiting it open.

She said would Stormblood come out and new players get free all servers?

Unlikely. Balmung is locked because too many players on. Won't be open until there are less.

Balmung will likely not be open when Stormblood comes out. It may be closed anywhere from a few months to years. When Stormblood launches, free transfers off of High population servers (Balmung and Gilgamesh) will be made available to designated low population servers. These low population servers have not been selected yet.

That's going to rely on people actually leaving, which I'm sure plenty will; but there's also going to be a stubborn chunk (hopefully not majority, but maybe) that refuse to take advantage of the free transfers. It definitely won't open up when Stormblood launches, that would defeat the point of the lock; it could be a few weeks after, or it could be months.

I'm sure many people feel the same way (though I think it's irrational, personally, now that cross-server PF exists), therefore it will probably be a long time before it unlocks. But hey, the longer the better - that's fewer people that can get sucked into the "gotta be on THE highest pop server" black hole.

Well if you're in it for looking for trouble, then I see it's easy for people like that to hide in a large population servers. Small servers tend to remember better.

I'd like to think the incentive of an increased gil transfer (though i can see some being sour if it actually is removed like I saw mentioned it may) along with possibly getting full refunds on houses. I'd think it would be a good chance for people to pack up and create a new RP server together.

They going to be offering free transfers to designated which most likely means transfers away from balmung not to balmung.
