FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood - Job Actions
Some very interesting things are in store for Astrologian. I will start by discussing the ability we were previously shown in the benchmark trailer. (More on that topic can be found here.) We now see The Lady used for the first time which, in contrast with The Lord, targets an ally party member. The effect is still unknown, but I think it is likely that The Lady bestows health restoration. However, there is an interesting thing to note. In this video we see The Bole replaced by The Lady, but The Lady does not have the usual 30 second timer until the card can be used. It appears to persist indefinitely much like a Spread card, but with its own reserved space separate from Spread. The Lady is likely activated by the same ability used to draw The Lady or The Lord.
Also, drawing either The Lady or The Lord might not be random. Take note previously we have seen The Balance converted into The Lord and now we are seeing The Bole converted into The Lady. The Balance and The Bole are already connected by their Royal Road effect so whether you get The Lady or The Lord may be determined by the type of card that is discarded.
The next ability we see appears to be a ground targeting ability with a peculiar effect. A field is created that may or may not have an effect of its own, but over the course of 20 seconds the center of this field steadily grows brighter until it automatically detonates and heals all party members in the affected radius. Almost like Wildfire, but as an AoE heal. And it looks like a mini Astral Stasis.
Next up is a new offensive spell which I'm going to speculate to be Malefic III. The spell animation is large enough that it could be an AoE attack, but it might not be. Oh and it looks pretty, like everything else about Astrologian. Immediately after we have what looks like Combust II, but without any cast time. This could be an example of Combust being upgraded to Combust II, but the instant cast time is retained. (Aero II is also instant during the White Mage preview.)
Following those offensive spells we have a passive ability with a pretty visual effect, but speculation on what it could do would be a wild guess.
And last but certainly not least, we have what I'm going to call Full Hand. It randomly generates a Spread card, a Royal Road effect, the Lord or Lady in its reserved slot, and an active Draw card. What you do with those cards is up to you.
