But if aero is getting merged with aero II, that could mean aero II will be instant cast.Just that it looks like all classes are loosing Stoneskin, and Aero will be merged into Aero II, meaning that WHM looses out big times here as well. Aero might be borderline useless, but it was always nice to apply on the go, e.g. while avoiding AoE. Yes, you do lose some skills, too, but by far not as much as WHM, sorry.
WHM hasn't been viable for 2 years? What game have you been playing?!! xD
Also Aero 2 is now an instant cast spell, so it's not all doom and gloom.
AST took WHM's spot in 3.07. AST has been doing WHM's job better and more efficiently for quite a while now. WHM is effective for 4man and solo content (FATEs), but SCH/AST have historically been better 8man healers which likely won't change by the dev team's own words.
We WHMs also, as Yuyuka said in the WHM "Utility" thread, would have to use all of our cross role slots just to get back what we lost to the x-role system (Protect, Lucid Dread<seems to replace SoS>, Esuna, Divine Seal replacement, and Cleric's Stance) it be painful yo :3

~~Thank You Niqo'te
Well, I don't think AST will loose Synastry. I think we'll loose the 20% heal bonus from Synastry to keep everything in line.
Synastry isn't just a 20% heal bonus.
WHM has always been viable. It's just not preferred by speed killing/optimization raiders because it offers no raid utility to boost raid dps. While I can't speak for everyone here, the big issue that is here is raid viability (which WHM hasn't been raid viable for the greater part of 2 years). These changes only solidify that WHM can only be played in solo/casual content from what we can tell.
On the flipside, until we see potencies (700 potency Cure I when?), it's entirely possible that WHM will be numerically stronger than the other two healers again. Likely? No, but I can dream, can't I?
That being said, I think if their personal dps is high enough to offer enough raid dps compared to SCH and AST raid contribution. Then I think they will be fine.
Honestly though, can I still use my old skill symbols for the macros? AST got the best looking skill symbols.
This entire list bothers me on all the healers. I like the skills we all have now. Sure things like merging Stone I/II/III is nice. I don't like the merging of the DoTs. Surecast and the Heavy skills were things people rarely used so I can go without. But most of the rest of that I don't want to lose and I don't want to have to take up all my cross class slots on any of my healers trying to get back stuff I lost. I'm honestly just really disappointed after this news. I knew they were trying to reduce the amount of skills, but this is way overkill. I'm sad.I really hope they rethink some of this stuff.
It is instant, yes. But instant still only means that the 'cast time' got moved to the end of the spell for me. It would really depend on the potency the skill dishes out if it's worth it, if you ask me. For now, it's a neutral change to me.
Kabzy, I don't know. I mean, I helped out two statics from my FC recently, both who regularly run AST, and both complained about being slower than usual. Since I'm dishing out quite a bit of dps, and know for a fact that at least one of those AST's is super lazy with dps, the only reason for that can be AST cards, which speaks volumes to me.
I am so sad reading all those "bad news" about SCH.
How much I loved this class and even tho it was sure they would nerf us, this just hit me like a train, because I came to similar conclusions like you.
MP-Regen taken away from Aetherflow and Eos' new UI-Bar...? Does it mean she can only do stuff for 90sec and then is on cooldown?
I am actually really worried and I try to stay calm, but I don't actually like the other two healers and if I am not able to deal with the 4.x SCH and if it will be a pain to play for me, it will be a big impact in my gameplay, because I would need to find a new static and learn DPS or so...
