Are role actions a nerf?

The only time I esuna is cleansable doom, paralysis or very high damage dots like concussion or hefty bleeds, which are mostly avoidable. How many duties are there with those things? 10 tops? Usually paralysis is actually avoidable too so if you ignore an AoE and get it I have little remorse for you.

My issue is constantly swapping role skills would be a pain so you should be able to register them to your gearsets for convenience.

Besides....aren't cross role skills interchangeable mid duty and no longer have a CD penalty? ./shrug

This argument is pointless since we do not know what they truly done to change the jobs and what will be used in the role thing. They said it is not the final version and ill leave with this.

MAKING BASELINE ABILITIES OPTIONAL LIKE PROVOKE, ESUNA, PROTECT only makes problems. It is not helping anything. It just makes a skill gap for people that do not repeatedly change out the abilities. Quoting me items and a level 58 ability is a joke, shows you are not even reading what I am saying. People never use items in random dfs.....

Lets make abilities used in rotations optional so we confuse people more.

If anything, I'd comment that you're the one refusing to acknowledge anything I'm saying. If people get hit with a cleanable debuff, especially if it's avoidable, I don't see any particular reason to clean it. If it's not gonna cause a death? Not my problem. The argument for people not using items is unrelated and does nothing to further your argument.

If people get hit with a cleanable debuff, especially if it's avoidable, I don't see any particular reason to clean it. If it's not gonna cause a death? Not my problem.

I guess that means you're not gonna take rescue instead.

I'm not entirely thrilled that WHM is getting most of its skills taken away that were included in the class and now we have to buy them back at the expense of getting new spells from the cross class. Good thing is, after this, there is not much more they can do to WHMs on taking away their unique abilities... save for giving away Benediction and maybe our big spamable aoe heals.

I'm going to be in the no-rescue camp though, I need all of the stuff I had back. Rescue sounds nice but I would only get it if I had a free slot, which I don't, and every player I have spoken to has told me to NEVER EVER GET IT or face punishment. Rescue is neat on paper and its flashy but boy does it make people pissy about messing with their character. Try "Rescuing" somebody in downtown Chicago.... I'll be in the armored car watching. =p

They did show WHM needing to equip it right? you can very well learn it, does not mean you can use it. As said though it was not a final version and set in stone.

Equip what? Every job has to slot their role actions, that's not what I'm talking about.

Are you saying Scholar will learn a Leeches at Lv 40 that can't be used and CNJ will learn a Protect at Lv 8 that's different from the Role Action?

No, scholar will learn esuna now, at the same level as white mage. They will have to equip it in the role actions menu to cast it though.

Ama_Hamada is suggesting WHM might not learn something new where they used to learn esuna, they will just learn the role action esuna. We don't really know one way or the other.
