And let the arguments began on we are in cutters cry wth didnt u esuna my debuff oh i didnt have it, start of a dungeon everyone waiting on protect oh i dont have that one, yea that doesnt sound fun to me at all. I like my hot bars to stay the same I get into the game not settin up my hot bars for every instance

Did ya miss the part where we said you can slot them based on composition and what is needed for the content or are you ignoring it because it doesn't suit the dialogue you are trying to push? And let the arguments began on we are in cutters cry wth didnt u esuna my debuff oh i didnt have it, start of a dungeon everyone waiting on protect oh i dont have that one, yea that doesnt sound fun to me at all. He should have it, that is the whole point of roll skills versus cross-class skills. Just explain it to him and wait some secs until he activated it.And let the arguments began on we are in cutters cry wth didnt u esuna my debuff oh i didnt have it, start of a dungeon everyone waiting on protect oh i dont have that one, yea that doesnt sound fun to me at all. I honestly would rather have skill bloat than having to change my hotbar before and after every instance
Well, I would rather have Hallowed Ground on my Summoner. It doesn't mean I think it'd make a good game :P
The skills are pretty situational, that if you go with the basic 5, you're good for most content. This allows for customization and fine tuning with your static, so that you can each specialize. In most content, you're not missing much without Cleric Stance, Divine Seal, Break, Surecast or Rescue. So just bring Protect, Swiftcast, Lucid Dream, Esuna and Eye for an Eye.

About the only thing that has me concerned is the muscle memory aspect, since gamers will naturally develop it over years. Theoretically though it might not be that bad. I'm interested in the new system.
Most of the time I'll be clumsy for a week or two, then this problem solves itself. Even faster with hotbars and custom keys since I tend to put specific tasks in specific places. ALT-4 is almost always a cleanse (Esuna) for me.
It can still be annoying. I was super pissed when workshops were added to company houses and it replaced the top spot that used to go to your own personal room. Click the door, click the top slot, wait for the zone time and... this is the wrong room.
Oooh, shiney...

I dont see the issue at all, its a pick what you need system over the pick whats absolute best without other options system we have now.
It is easily an improvement since we actually have choice like ACTUALLY do and make loadouts for each encounter which we could have done with cross class skills if most of the cross class abilities were not trash.
This change makes the game more modern and require some thought and planning now instead of pick 5 and never touch it again which is a good thing and I would not consider it a nerf.
Oh hey nothing was here

If you're bringing esuna to every fight that needs it and not bringing it to fights that don't, you're not really the one making the choice, the battle designer is. There's no benefit to having esuna in a fight where there's nothing to cleanse so it doesn't make sense putting it in a list of optional skills, it would never be the right choice for those fights. They're only setting people up to fail and bring esuna when they don't need it or forget esuna when they do need it. The only "positive" is entirely manufactured by this new system, that you get to bring a different skill. But if this system didn't exist and you just got esuna the way you do now you would still gain the benefit of also being able to bring other skills. Even on the subject of "button bloat", if you want to swap things in and out of your hotbars as needed you can already do that. You can already take esuna off your hotbar and put something else there if you don't need it. The whole role abilities system provides zero actual benefits, only imaginary benefits to people desperate for some kind of pretend choice.I dont see the issue at all, its a pick what you need system over the pick whats absolute best without other options system we have now.
