they could of simply just unlocked cross class problem solved instead of takin skills away
Problem is people were going into content without skills they needed. Like if you go into an EX Primal as a tank you should have Provoke no questions asked.

On a side note, I'd like them to do something TERA did with glyphs. Allow you to save configurations. If that was the case then swapping on-the-fly would be easy. Like this

considering changing these will require going into skills menu -> unequipping the ones you want to swap -> equipping the ones you want to use -> then changing your hotbars to incorporate the changed skills.
I do not see the vast majority of people ever changing them once set outside of maybe raid groups.
They do kind of serve as a way to remove some buttons though. Instead of having esuna + a cross class skill you now just have esuna as a cross class skill.
It kind of looks that way for a lot of this, like a new healer only virus. Scholar and astro had virus/disable already + a cross class skill, and now they'll just have the new virus
looks the same way with mp regen skills too. Maybe the mp regen on aetherflow got moved to summoner as a passive skill because if that really is mp regen scholars will get to go crazy and never worry about mp ever.
But everyone is getting reworked skills and 5 new skills so i'm sure most "lost" things have new unknown replacements.
It honestly looks like a lot of classes will be very different from their current state too
I do imagine the pull skill will get severely nerfed or changed completely within couple patches if people use it the way it seems like




I think people are trying to defeat the original purpose of the Cross-Class system. In my earlier post on the 1st page I pointed out how nearly ALL jobs for ARR HW had their cross-classes in such a way that only 5 or 6 were useful most of the time. And for the Jobs with 6 viable choices it was mostly down to preference between minor defensive cooldowns.
People are angry because we now have choices that can matter, compared to now where there's little thought put into your CC most of the time.





I'm more angry because it's choices between skills I already have and use, rather than all new things. They're chopping off all of my fingers and then letting me sew whichever 5 I want back on. And I definitely need both my thumbs and both index fingers so I really only get to choose one finger that I want.

We the game launches you may actually realize that your must haves are not as must have as you currently believe.


I see the xclass skills are more or less mandatory, the real choice to do is how slot them and what put first when in low content (aka, some slot locked).
I'd chosen cleric as first and protect second, but still I see people wait for protect in sastasha lv16 after all of them see I've turned on cleric stance. Sure, I can protect then run thru all the menus and swap swap out and come back (in the while, tank is likely to first boss and locking me out XD). But.... Sashasha.... I can fill your hp bar healing with cleric still on... what you want protect for, there...




Easily. I suspect Blood for Blood was taken away because Bard and Machinist wound up doing more damage than even the melee jobs. It's insane what both were capable of when paired with a Dragoon.these are good posts that make me worry if role actions are a nerf. Also I am concerned about DPS output balance. Can brd keep up without blood for blood and internal release? MCH without blood for blood and hawk eye for wildfire? I do understand MCH is likely much different then we know now, but does SE truly understand what we can do with rotations? will this lead to no x job allowed to do x content?
Why are healers losing protect and esuna as default? that makes no sense at all. (and maybe losing mp recovery tool and dive seal?) does this make AST too op with synergy on top of it?
As for role skills. It will come down to communication between your co-healer in a static setting. If the White Mage takes Esuna and Protect, the Scholar doesn't have to. For all other content, it really doesn't matter. Dungeons and normal mode equivalent raids/trials have always been a joke. Extremes and Savage generally require some strategizing, which this enforces. The one concern I do have though is... how badly will this impact pugging higher tier content?
