The other potions I've seen effectively do both together and are only $60...and if they only pay for one or the other, they have to take the time to go through a fairly significant portion of the game (MSQ or leveling via dungeons).
Given the level 60 Dragoon I encountered recently in Sohr Kai that largely spammed Heavy Thrust and Impulse Drive?
It's not the jump potions that lead to a player not retaining information (or seeking it out in the first place), it's the player themselves.
So, basically you pay 1.5 months sub to skip to HW and 2 months sub to skip to SB?
For someone joining now to play with their friends in SB, they have to purchase FFXIV complete edition at $60 plus another $25 to clear ARR an HW ans be ready to go in SB. 2 months sub is about enough time to power through ARR and HW, seems OK to me.
I mean, you get to lvl 60 with one job, you have no other classes even partially leveled, no gear, nothing in inventory all for the price of $85. I think I'd rather play than pay, but others may be willing to pay.
they only get the levels and there job quests done and basic level 60 gear everything else they get no tomestones and no gil, and there are 0 for stormblood or for the new jobs so you can't use it to insta level a sam or rdm to 60
Wish I could have used it for SAM, PotD is going to be boring as hell.
They don't want to encourage its use. It is an option. Perhaps come 5.0 it will be included, but right now there isn't enough MSQ to warrant it being free.Surprised they arent doing the thing wow did where they gave everyone 1 potion free. My SO really wanted these for her alts that she loved to play but couldn't get to in Heavensward due to work. Will probably just level my classes in my off time since $25 to skip 50-60 is a bit high for a class I rarely play. They do have a point about the MSQ getting in the way of new friends joining older players tho.
Never said it was, but the person leveling from 1-60 (now 70) will at least have some chance of absorbing some amount of information by just doing the MSQ and the dungeons required. Someone who's level jumped to 60 will have a similar experience of potentially learning... but in lvl 60-70 dungeons... and with a lot more abilities to learn.
Good they adding them, All those general MMO players can just skip everything and go straight to their "end game" and don't have to listen to them complain about having to do the story.
