Melee GCDs have never been particularly flashy with their core rotations. All of the abilities you're comparing to from Monk and Dragoon are the uber-flashy oGCDs they possess.
All I wanted was a cherry blossom finisher and a moon finisher like some of the weapon skills SAM had in XI and we got just that. Also, that all in one Sen finisher with all 3 sen charges up is 720 potency. Wrap your head around that for a second.
I don't think we've really seen everything. For the other classes, they mostly show new abilities. For a melee class, you can't show all 1-70 abilities in that time frame.
I liked what we got though. Just don't think it's everything.
Yeah I've been rewatching that part where yoshida shows SAM off and there's a ton of OGCD abilities ont he right side he never uses and also 3 big abilities on combo rotations he never uses. There's even more to SAM than what's been shown. ANd even with what's been shown so far, it's quite a lot. The different combo paths are pretty crazy.
I was actually very suprised how boring Samurai looked. At least now i dont need to be salty anymore that they didnt made it a Tank. Ill just stick Warrior with Quadra Felcleave. thanks SE.

I really like the simple yet elegant designs of the animations. We have enough "fireworks" jobs in the game where every ability is overly done with special effects. (yes, pun intended)
The animations are fine, but i personaly think that the Artifact armor/kimono was a poor choice for showing skills/animations , 'cause it hide legs, and animations seem more statics due to that.
I think the animations will look even better without kimono.
Yeah Sam doesn't need to be anymore flashy than what it is. It was perfect.
I must agreee compared to the other tanks. A SAM tank would have been very boring - good move SE
