PSA - Cleric Stance and vote kicking

With the new changes to cleric stance and so many people on the forums now saying that there is zero excuse to not dps as a healer in SB, please keep the following in mind.

Edit: I should clarify that these changes do not go into effect until the release of Stormblood, as it seems some are confused.

Many players do not watch the live letters or read the forums and the fact that healer damage will now be scaled based on Mind may go unnoticed by a large portion of casual players.

Instead of being condescending or immediately kicking healers for not dpsing please try to inform and educate them first. If you see a healer not dpsing maybe politely ask if they know how and are aware of the changes made to healer dps. If they respond with anything along the lines of "I don't dps because I'm a healer lulz." go ahead and kick. But if they are unsure of themselves and still learning please make sure to establish that this isn't the case and offer help before burning them at the stake.

And back on topic, I don't see why this is such a hotly debated and sensitive topic tbh. It really does touch a nerve.

To all those proclaiming that this the death of the healy healer:

This is going to help those that do modest DPS already likely do significantly more. Those that are against doing DPS for 'reasons' aren't likely to be changed by this, #dealwithit however you will.

To all those proclaiming that healers have no excuse not to dps now:

Context is king here, piling pressure on nervous timid players and those that simply lack the physical or mental dexterity to reliably juggle dps and heals isn't going to achieve anything good. If you have someone like that healing in your static, work with them, coach them and help them build their confidence and skill up to the point where they can start putting those dots out and you'll have achieved something positive for the group. In a pug? Consider opening dialogue, but remember that thrusting your playstyle upon them is likely to cause more issues than it solves irrespective of who's right or wrong.

To those that flat out refuse to DPS regardless of the situation because it's not their job:

Your entitled and lazy attitude has no place in a team game game such as this. A little effort goes a long long way with most people, try it sometime.

Lastly, healer DPS is anything but black or white. It all boils down to a number of different factors. It should be appreciated when it's there, but it shouldn't be mindlessly expected.

It doesn't scale off mind YET. None of the changes are in effect until Stormblood. Until then cleric stance is still a thing.

Yes we need to help them and give them the rigth info, I agree. However, the community (sadly there is so many topics on this) that many refuses to listen, this is also a issue, a very big issue. I'm all in to help people. But very hard when people wont. Hopefully the change will enlight them to try it more and it will hopefully be more fun for them too.

What people are asking for:

- Heal when healing is necessary. If your party is taking too much damage it is okay to not DPS.
- If you find yourself standing around, throw some dots on, cast a few damage skills.
- Use your time wisely. If you aren't comfortable with the dungeon no one is going to get on you, but if you can contribute please do.

This is why I said both sides are being ridiculous.

It IS NOT "You just want to watch Netflix while doing a dungeon."
It IS NOT "You just want me to dps so much everyone dies."
It IS "Fill all the gcds required for healing with healing and fill as many free gcds as you can with damage."

I absolutely abhor the fact that every time these topics come up, there are several people who pull the "I shouldn't have to pick up the slack of the DPS" card.

Literally no one is saying that the DPS in these hypothetical examples are doing poorly. Even if the DPS are doing amazing - brace yourself for this one - there ISN'T a cap on damage. The more you contribute, the better the run is going to go, and that's all there is to it.

As the game is, I don't blame people for being wary of Cleric Stance. It can be scary. If you are going to just be obstinate and refuse to TRY come 4.0, however, you can have a big old boot.

Why people think healer classes have to do 2 jobs and tank and dps classes only do 1 job..?

Once DPS's or Tanks has the same healspells healer has, only then I will DPS as healer in groups too! o_o
