Again Reflect (which nobody has) and Reraise (an Auto-Raise nobody has) or Haste (a buff nobody grants). No toes harmed.
Otherwise they're going to have to cram so much damage onto us that it magically morphs into real utility people want. Because damage and heals is all we get.
Utility spells. He's saying: "If everyone can heal with a basic toolkit, what's the point of an advanced toolkit? Get rid of everything but the basics and give the class some utility." However, this analysis is missing that Asts basically get our advanced toolkit, and get utility. The option to keep the flavor of the class is to tie those other heals to utility. There's actually a mechanic they gave us to do that, confessions. But it's useless and shows up at 70 for one spell that I can't see anyone using often.
on an earlier page we discussed a Reraise like thing, on a 7 minute timer..i'd have to go back and look for it thought...and Technically doesn't (Correction) Arrow (oh, we all hate that) give a haste? Reflect would be interesting.
@ Ryeiryuu (I hit my Post limit...wow...didn't think that'd happen...)
but regards to what you said:
You're right, Spear is the oGCD CD (Using Lillies) and Arrow is the overall Skill/Spell speed reduction...what having Lilies does to us...huh...

For the lillies, one just huge thing sticks out: the inability to prevent the use of lillies. We need a separate button to decide when we want them used, rather than have them built up to use on one skill and accidentally blowing it on another. I foresee a lot of times where an assize eats stacks when they're intended for benison. On that note too, if holding lillies for specific uses or emergency moments becomes consistent, then so too should another chance for these lillies to actually be more than reducing the cooldown of an ability. The lillies could raise the potency of the skill they lower the cooldown for, or hold a passive buff like spell speed or healing potency when stocked and held onto.
With the loss of potency moving from divine seal toward largesse, white mage doesn't have anything in it's skill set that enhances its healing potency, so using one or both of their new stack types to raise potency until utilized would be a good thing to make up for the loss
It obviously can't be healing spells.
So technically, it can only be support skills, i.e. some damage reduction and some damage buff skills.
Personally, Healer Identity should be about -how- a healer heals, not what kind of support it brings. Every Healer should have support (both damage and mitigation).
AST uses HoTs for ST/AoE Healing.
SCH uses Shields/Fairy.
WHM uses big direct healing abilities.
All Healers bring support.
Their argument for WHM not bringing support is that their damage is (signficantly) higher than SCH/AST. But that argument fails on the psychological level of damage dealers. They want their numbers to be high, not that of a healer.
Therefore no DD or group would ever care about a WHM dealing damage (which is also risky, as it comes at the cost of time healing - while Stragem and Balance have no opportunity cost).
Spire is TP regeneration isn't it? I always get belittled by scholars for trying to steal Fey Wind when I mention haste =p
Whose? Certainly not SE's. We've been given this "Pure Healer" nonsense as a reason for no utility since 3.0. You're a pure healer... holy nerf... you're a pure healer... the other healers need pro-shell too... you're a pure healer... your stoneskin is too powerful.Their argument for WHM not bringing support is that their damage is (signficantly) higher than SCH/AST. I saw that, this why I mentioned it. Spire gives TP regeneration. Spear is a cool down reduction for oGCD skills. Haste would speed up GCDs. Obviously powerful and only short but worth it. Reflect wouldn't be a mitigation but would just send back a portion of the damage, thus steering clear of the shields the other two grant.
