Yoshida had the same spiel with WAR back in 2.0 and it wasn't long before they were forced to change it since they were in fact completely detached from the reality of the situation.
This thread is totally unnecessary seeing as how there are already plenty of WHM tear threads. Beg for attention much?
It depends on what the fights themselves will bring to the table and how able, or the more likely scenario, how willing, players will be to adapting.i really think just doing something about the Cure I/II proc limitation would be enough. I'll leave the raid meta balancing to others to let them figure out the perfect potency values for everyone, but the reliance on hard casted Cure I and Cure II's is so bizarre that it's going to drive people away from the job quick.
Dunno what was said then. Didn't care about meta or any of that back then. Too many people were still absolutely terrible at the game. The only thing I can recall back then was Yoshida saying players are playing warrior incorrectly and the sentiment sort of being echoed at the start of 3.0 when people were complaining the stuff was too hard and what they got back was "get good."
I'm just waiting and seeing before jumping on any bandwagons.
I suspect the AoE aspect of it is to allow it to be an alternative of sorts to Synastry. FaustZ is a great example of where it'll shine with both tanks getting a good chunk of cure loving (and hopefully some saucy confessions to boot). In this sort of situation you're likely to be able to just hit it on cooldown either to play it safe whilst solo healing, or get a free GCD for a dot or stone in a less intensive setting.

AST is going to be a beast, I think I heard they also have 300% shields coming too. Should be better than scholars shields.
Actually, the people that went to the little show this weekend...all said that Stoneskin and Stoneskin 2 are not in the toolkit any more.
it's not sure if they only gave them the partial toolkit...but it appears they're both going to go away for that 60sec single target shield for the lillies.
From what those that got the sneakpeek said...Stoneskin is completely going away and all native utility skills that the WHM had...are now going to be CC...that we have to use our slots...to get back...*stares*
*Raises hand and waves it* Teacher! something doesn't add up here!
It's clear to me now that the white mage is becoming a preferred dungeon and 24 man raid healer. Scholar and Astro are going to become the preferred raid healers. This allows Square Enix to balance everything much easier and not have to worry about three healers with only two slots.
