Why? They fixed almost zero of the concerns raised in it and keep buffing Scholar. Cooldown reduction is still hot garbage, still have fewer skills, zero utility, the "pure healing" niche isn't really a niche, Scholar still has higher damage in real content, Benison is still a spray painted stoneskin sold back as a new skill, and secret of the lily 2 is still one of the stupidest traits in the game.

This the only thing that was fixed was Cure I became 100%, and PI became useful in like 1% of the content. The rest of the Whms concerns were ignored.

They...did fix little on WHM, but...PI has become a bit of a boon in Royal City. I'm not promoting that WHM is fine...but...I'm saying PI is gotten more useful. for now.

I don't think we're going to see substantial changes at this point. The focus is on SCH since it was in such a rough spot until now, and even if WHM has a few lackluster traits and abilities, it's still the best healer for progression raiding or as an introduction to healing for newbies.

I don't know if I want SE to touch healers again though. They've been doing some cautious and sensible buffs to SCH but their vision for WHM doesn't really match mine.

P.S. PI is still meh outside of O4S and the first week or two of new raids, please do SOMETHING with it.

My main issue left with WHM is our level 68 Trait which basically only procs 5% of the time for 5 seconds off of Assize's Recast, which is barely noticeable. I've had the idea of a small healing/DPS buff when you have 3 Lilies. It'd be great in situations where you're capped on Lilies but have no CDs to spend them on.

I think PI just needs a duration increase to 20s, or at minimum 15s. WHM easily has the best AoE healing; PI doesn't need to heal more.

No. White mage is the most straightforward healer but that doesn't mean it's training wheels for the other healers. The other healers have different mechanics and have to be learned on their own.

Now, if by 'training wheels' you are asking if white mage still is considered the simplest healer; I'd answer, what does it matter if one job is less complex than another? It's a silly metric to use to judge a class. Be more concerned about how well a class performs in your current content! All three healer jobs do their jobs well. So, if you like playing a white mage, go for it!

P.S. A Roegadyn healer! My gosh, I feel like I hit the lottery. You guys are rare!

It is only in the sense that CNJ is the only healing class available to play when you start the game. It's considered the most straight forward healer because it doesn't really have any sophisticated gimmicks to get the job done. No card mechanics, no shields or fairy to micro manage; just raw heals and damage spells along with ways to increase their output and potency.

As Kacho stated, each healer has their own mechanics that need to be learned and honed before becoming proficient. Each has its own challenges. It just so happens that anyone coming into the game wanting to heal would either have to take ACN to 30, or take another battle class into HW and unlock AST if they don't want level CNJ/WHM.

Hi Gemina!

Exactly. Because of the current system of classes progressing into jobs, conjurors are the first healer players encounter in the game. For some Twelve-forsaken reason, some people take this to mean that conjurors and white mages are the equivalent of Fisher Price "My First Healer"™.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Conjurors and white mages are the reactive* healers of FFXIV. That's a specific skillset and does not translate well to a proactive** healer. Reactive healing is not easier than proactive healing. It is, however, more intuitive.

Anyways, I feel I might be preaching to the choir here. This being a white mage thread and all. *laughs at silly self*

*You take damage. They throw a heal your way.
** You are about to take damage. They throw a shield your way to block it.

Confessions needs to be changed. 10 seconds for a confession? Thats only useful if the party is taking too much damage or in savage content, but Medica, medica II, and C3 is enough to top everyone off without the use of Plenary indulgence... I mean, yea...really strong heal bomb boom. But outside of that, using an entire class mechanic toward one skill is stupid

Also, divine benison should not be tied down to the Lily system...imho
