Fatal DirectX error (10000000) when loading the game

To be specific, the error is "A fatal DirectX error has occurred.(10000000)" When I push the Play button to launch the game, I get this error. I've tried reinstalling DX, reinstalling the game, removed and reinstalled graphics drivers, and rolled back the last month worth of Widows updates in case one of them had a hidden DX update.

The game was working perfectly fine this morning, running a Radeon R9 290x so I know it isn't a lack of GPU power. I've tried running in DX9 as well as DX11 mode. Any ideas what could be causing this or possible fixes?

UPDATE: I got it working perfectly without any driver or update issues. I simply opened up my box, cleared out whatever dust was in there, completely disconnected and pulled out the video card, and plugged it all back in. I don't know if the connection was wonky, if there was some dust inside causing an issue or what. All is working perfectly now, just ran the Stormblood benchmark successfully and the game itself works fine. Thanks for your advice guys!

I've also had this today since Microsoft updated to a new version of Windows10. Can't access FF14 due to the "Fatal DirectX error" whether it's using version 9 or 11.

PC states it has version12.


EDIT/UPDATE.
Tried the game again the day after with no changes to anything at it worked. Not sure if it was just something on that day or cause of another program running at the same time.
