I am STILL freezing in THIS. GAME. ONLY. with video evidence this time.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05kr15LT5Ho

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uhvl3pcG_-k

you can see exactly what I am talking about, in these video clips.

I'm really probably going to have to cancel my Stormblood pre-order over this.

    I have:

1)Had Technicians come to my house, TWICE.

    2)Replaced my Modem. TWICE.

    3) Replaced my cables.

    4) factory reset my modem upwards of 25-30 times in the course of a few weeks.

5)Factory reset my PS4, and re-downloaded the game.

    NOTHING fixes the issue. NOTHING.

and because people love to say "it's your connection" I need to make it as plan and clear as day. I DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER, *EVER* freeze up like this in ANY. OTHER. GAME. I. HAVE. EVER. PLAYED. ON. MY. PS4.

it's ONLY Final Fantasy XIV. that is the ONLY GAME THAT THIS HAPPENS IN.

I'm really frustrated and at my wit's end on this because I really like this game, and I want to be able to play it, and the PS4 doesn't have any MMOs that are really as good as this one. but I can't play the game when it freezes like this.

Looks like a typical disconnection. The problem is likely somewhere between you and the game server, which is what people mean by "your connection." The route taken for each game is different and it's not outside the realm of possibilities that you have a better route to those other locations. If you're playing on PS4, there's most likely nothing you, or SE, can do about it. Your ISP could possibly do something, but since you've already had technicians visit you, those options are likely already exhausted.

On PC you could possibly try using a VPN service to tunnel and more secure route to the game servers, but I don't know if those kind of services are available for PS4. WTFast, Pingzapper and Mudfish are a few I've heard about.

TL;DR: It's not your fault, it's not SE's fault. Try another ISP or a VPN service if possible.

Okay, I went and read stuff you posted on the other threads first. It definitely sounds like packet loss on the route from you to the game servers. Supposedly the game is more sensitive to packet loss in the DF server because more information is being sent or something, but that'd explain why you don't have issues outside DF (and I have a similar problem without a VPN right now myself). The datacenters just moved to Sacramento, but a lot of routing issues are going to be present for a while until SE has worked with/leaned on some ISPs about fixing it. I know it was happening to you before the move too, but that was likely related to level3 (and you could still be routing through level3 depending on your location).

What you can do is hop on a computer, run cmd, and do a traceroute to your server and see if you're experiencing spikes in ping on any of the hops on the way to the server. I don't know Leviathan's IP address, but you can use the IP to one of the datacenters or ask a friend in game what IP resource monitor shows connecting to FFXIV (task manager > performance tab > resource monitor button at the bottom if on windows 10).

Otherwise, just run cmd and type: tracert 204.2.229.10

You can share your result here and maybe someone can help interpret it for you if you don't know how to read it. If that ends up being the issue, you can try bugging your ISP about it or go post in the stickied thread about the datacenter move, and hope that SE will lean on your ISP to fix it. It is possible to use a tunneling service/VPN with PS4 to help with bad routing, but it's a lot more tricky and might require buying a new router etc. :/ There are various guides for that online, but obviously you don't want to spend that money before finding out if it'll help. If you have a computer that can handle the game at all, you might try downloading it and doing a free trial FFXIV account and leveling to Sastasha, then grabbing the free trial of wtfast or pingzapper and seeing if that helps the issue at all.

I would like to know what ISP and speed package you have, and if you have a computer in your home, I'd like you to go to speedtest.net, run the ISP test, and post a pic of the results so we can see what your download, upload, and ping is.

Also, I'm sorry to say that the PS4, in general, has crappy networking which severly limits your speed, including upload, which will hurt you
depending on your isp. I'd also have you do a speed test on the PS4 and post those results.

If you're running the PS4 on wifi, then don't. Hardwire it to your LAN if you're doing this and it will improve. If you're already hardwired, please give me the results of the tests above.

This game sends and receives alot more traffic than most games, and that freezing is 100% definate lag. Do other players complain about you freezing or jumping around on their screen?

Also, setting your PS4 or router to use the google DNS servers might help you some.
