So.. what happened to Flying Tank mounts?

It must be over half a year now since the German FFXIV livestream confirmed flying Tank mounts. "Fenrir first and Tankmounts afterwards because they are quite a lot of work to get." Was the exact translation.

And Yes it took a while to get them and they are still useless in Heavensward since they can not fly.

When is this going to finaly be implemented?

Fenrir is flying already.
The tank mounts will get flying in 4.0 or during one of the 4.X patches.
That's the latest info we have.

Some of their idea about mounts are really dumb. Mostly since they said every flying mount can dive. Hello Magitek Armor.
On the other side they said they would increase the speed of ground mount, so I think nothing else need to change. Except maybe differenciating flying from diving mount. Rip Elbst.

OMG I thought I was the only freaking person in the whole world who thought this way T_T; I'd even be happy with something other than a mount. Just give healers something since there's no healing job and tanks are getting more freaking mounts =/

can be translated in several different ways, from 'we are preparing a top exclusive tank mount' to 'we are readying a mount for advanced tanks'. Note that it says only about one mount, so it can be an upgrade to existing achievements, like complete 1000 high-level duties on any tank job Mentor mount-style.

Not really, he's basically saying they're prepping mount(s) for tanks for high end content. I was pretty sure he mentioned mounts in one of the fan festival keynotes, but I can't seem to find it anymore. =/ But it's unclear from the quote you mentioned whether it'll be one or multiple mounts since Japanese doesn't really use plural forms unless you want to make a number clear for whatever reason. The post I was looking for had a slide or at least an official English TL with multiple mounts.
