    The hop between Chicago and San Jose looks to be the issue. Getting a VPN to route around this hop will probably solve this issue. I'll report back and see if it fixes it.

    That's strange, my hops before Chicago are causing me the most trouble, once I hit Chicago and it goes direct to San Jose it clears up quickly.
