Type of Issue/Feedback: Without VPN/GPN: Ping increased from 40 MS to 130 MS, with spikes upwards to 180 MS. 3 dropped packets in a 30 minute period. Packet Loss occurred between 204.2.229.234 both outgoing, and incoming.

My ping to an EU server is in some cases more viable then it is to California. (120 MS)

Utilizing a 3rd party application (I.E.) WTFast I can get a solid 90-100 MS ping without spikes.

Effects ability to weave rotations and raiding that did not exists prior to the server change. Primarily, Ninja, Machinist.

I will need to pay an estimated $30 a year additional to play at the same level of gameplay that I would honestly rather use towards the game, not another service.

-Consistently <30ms -> unstable 120-150ms after server move

Honestly doesn't feel like it's only 120-150 though, playing as BRD, or NIN, I have so far had multiple issues with oGCD's not going off, consistently clipping, or having to wait until I actually see it go off to start casting again, Mudra mechanic is also basically unusable

Also should point out my ping to the EU servers is the same as my ping to Aether, and I get consistently 15ms less when I ping the Primal servers.

Edit: Also experiencing pretty massive lag spikes from 180-220 very frequently, and having periods where I'm losing packets left and right

Update: Was getting noticeably better connection to the servers so I ran another tracert, which had me going through Chicago and having less jumps, was getting ~100ms steadily, then I decided to do it again the day after because it was getting a little bit unstable, and it's back to using a sub-par route to the servers.

    Hello!

    _type of feedback
    latency increase:
    - ~140ms before / ~190ms after (w/ VPN)
    - ~180ms before / ~330ms after (w/o VPN)
Update: as of 05/21 I've noticed that I am getting disconnected from the game very frequently, about every hour or so. Prior to the relocation, disconnects were extremely rare.

    _ISP
    - Vivo

    _location
    - São Paulo, Brazil

    _world
    - Midgardsormr

    _date/frequency
    - all the time since the servers went up after the relocation

    _traceroute
    Before
    After

    Extra observations:
I play 3 classes: BLM, SMN and MCH. I am missing skills inside cooldown windows compared to how it used to be.

    - BLM: random Firestarter proc in the opener can't fit inside Raging Strikes anymore
    - SMN: last Fester inside DWT + Raging Strikes window has to be used after Deathflare now or else I'd lose RS damage buff on the Deathflare, which would be a bigger loss (clarification: that last Fester goes completely unbuffed) ; was able to refresh Miasma before it fell off, now I can't anymore without letting it fall for ~1s
    - MCH: initial Wildfire is missing an entire Clean Shot inside its window. Damage went down from 16-17k on SSS to 13-14k

I also noticed that inside the housing area I can execute those rotations better than I could prior to server relocation. I know that the housing zones work with a different refresh rate, but the fact that I can do things better with higher latency inside those maps tells me enough to know that doing something about how oGCDs respond is completely within your powers.

(those are observations made with VPN on)

I raid since BCoB and I like to push myself _a lot_. In this current situation, I don't feel like I can be competitive and I also feel that more dedicated groups that I like to be a part of will not want me around because this sort of change does make a lot of difference. I legitimately feel left out and forced to be excluded from the population that I identify with because of this change and this makes me extremely sad. There are some really good suggestions around the forums about changing how weavings work, so higher latency players can compete fairly with players that have good latency. Currently I can't enjoy the game and I don't feel like I should play a game that makes me feel frustrated and betrayed.

Another factor that I'd like to put into this feedback post since apparently you're taking the time to read it is that since the server relocation it is no longer viable to play this game from Brazil without a VPN subscription. Brazilians have very limited options to pay for FFXIV subscription and with most of these programs only offering USD payment, most people that want to keep playing decently now have to pay almost double the amount in USD, which is already very expensive for us. Some players "choose" to play the Steam version because Steam Wallet's dollar conversion is more affordable and does not fluctuate with the country's economy, but players like me, that bought the game as it was launched have no chance to do that. I have money to pay the premium for a VPN and the sub in dollars, but I know a lot of people that struggle even with the basic sub. Maybe give some thought to that as well. We shouldn't need to pay another sub to be able to play the game without being chastised by other players because of high latency that will inevitably lead to low performance.

I really hope you can do something about it, as this is a game I love so much and the thing I would hate the most in my life right now is to leave it.

Type of Issue/Feedback: Massive Lag Spikes/Frequent Disconnects (90002 Error)
Name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP):Charter/Comcast
    State/Country: USA - Illinois
    Date/Time: 5/17/2017
    World Name: Faerie
    Frequency: VERY frequent (Daily)

While most people in here have ping issues, I never knew what my ping was before the move, as of now i can say it bounces from 80-150. My main issue however, is the massive amount of lag I'm receiving that never occurred before the server move.
Now i'm almost lucky if I can play group content with my friends anymore due to near constant 15+ second lag spikes in dungeons and raids. It's starting to leak into faerie itself. Crafting has become worrisome, because of the random lag-outs to 90002 errors, that I'll lose what I've begun working on.
Another example was a Dun Scaith raid run where I was disconnected no les than 10 times during the raid. These rarely if never happened before the move

    Type of Issue/Feedback:

    - There's a noticeable delay after the server migration. Specifically, opening menus (like when I talk to my retainers) and interacting with objects (like the retainer bell, or Bismark's Harpoons) take a while to register. Before the server relocation, I used to hover around 160-170ms. Now the game shows I'm between 280-300ms (despite the Traceroute saying I should be in 220-230ms or so. Not sure why).

    - Dodging AoEs and attacks is considerably more difficult now, such as Titan's Weight of the Land, where I often get hit even after moving out of the way.

    - Some instant skills feel a lot more awkward to use, such as turning Cleric Stance on and off when healing (sometimes it doesn't register). Another example is Swiftcast, where if I use a spell immediately after activating the ability, it starts casting as normal (instead of it being instant).

Name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP):GTD Manquehue
    State/Country: Santiago, Chile.
Date/Time: As soon as the servers came back up after the migration.
    World Name: Leviathan
Frequency: I'd say at all times, I haven't noticed much difference between peak hours and other times.
    Traceroute records:
    Traceroute

Using a VPN seems to fix the problem and lets me play with a similar ping I used to have before the server migration. I'd assume it has something to do with the routing, but I don't know much about networking. Thanks for making this thread, by the way. It's nice to see SquareEnix is aware of the issue.

    State/Country: Spain
    Date/Time: Ever since the relocation.

I'm aware that being an EU playing I might not have any right to complain, but I would rather not having to move if possible, thank you.

Thank you for looking into that, I really appreciate it! ^^

Type of Issue/Feedback: latency went way higher after server move, from 160~180 to 215~250
Name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP): I have two ISPs OI Velox and West
    State/Country: Rio de Janeiro/Brazil
Date/Time: Right after the server change to Sacramento
    World Name: Behemoth
    Frequency: All the Time
Additional Info: It's funny cause on OI Velox the packages goes to New York and have to cross the entire State to arrive in Sacramento, on West it goes through Miami. I were able to reduce my latency to 160~170 by paying yet another service called (NoPing), but unfortunately I didn't find a way to do a traceroute inside it to see which nodes it uses =(
