One of the reasons they have said is that they don't want people to be able to reverse engineer the damage formulas. Whether that's a true concern of theirs or not doesn't really matter to me. I am in agreement with them and think that parsers will be more detrimental than good if they are "legalized" per se.

Hey OP, I was a former ps4 player.
Been raiding since T4 was a thing, back on my PS3 then switched to PS4 from T5 to A8S.

Some of the most frustrating times I had was leveling new classes. I couldn't see if the opener I was doing was ok, I couldn't try new things because I had zero point of reference.

I didn't know if I was contributing meaningfully to the group dps in content. I'd ask for my parse after every fight during raid. Also during raid, I couldn't see where I was losing dps so I couldn't see any parts of the fight I could improve on which was especially rough in Gordias.

I was lucky enough to get some $ for a gaming PC so I switched. I will never go back to PS4, ONLY because of my parser. I do not find playing a "blind" dps fun. It's allowed me to literally get better as a player.

So yea, I agree with you. It sucks for PS4 players, it really does. I genuinely hope some sort of meaningful meter is installed in game, whether it just be on a target dummy or not.

Thank you for understanding what I was talking about. It's frustrating to see others say that we don't need a parser just because we can ask our friends or static members to parse us, I wish I could switch to a PC but sadly thats not an option for me and it's not a solution to the problem, I blame SE for this they should stop treating parsers like it's the reason why we have assholes in game.

Right because we totally should force the aids that is parsing on ps4 players as well. Face it, the devs don't want this to become min-max "oh you missed the ability that one time /kick" shit.

If people are worried about harrassment, why not just add an official parser or parse-type program (whether it gives hard numbers, or a grade compared to inputted averages/logged numbers, whatever) for savage? Have it show you a quick window upon either a clear or a total party wipe. Literally nobody 'casual' enough to be harrassed for low dps is going to be running anything past multiple wipes of floor 1 in relevant savage content anyway, and if you don't want it, just add a tickbox to the PF menu that says "don't show dps comparisons in savage".

I say just savage and not ex because ex primals are a gateway drug to raiding, so you'll get a lot more non-optimised people in there who are "at risk" of this harassment that totally wouldn't occur without an official parser /s
Hell, even something at the end of a duty that said "sup, you died once and missed four times!" would be more useful than literally nothing at all.

This wasn't always the case, but I'm seeing more of it now. Groups, not just the leader, is asking for 80 percentile. My problem is, many parses are not uploaded. I FINALLY broke 2.5k dps as NIN in A11S according to the group, but it was not uploaded (I'm on PS4). Some people really want to Raid, but the community puts a lot of pressure there. I'll always stand by my saying: "People want high dps but always fail mechanics, while people who do average dps will always survive the mechanics." Have you seen "farm" parties as of late? There's a high success rate of clear groups becoming farms than farm groups running more than twice.

Goes back to my statement above, when it sucks that all parses are NOT uploaded.

Agreed! I can clear A11S SSS as WAR in Defiance, but that's if I'm spamming Butcher's Block and Storm's Eye. If I do Storm's Eye and Storm's Path, I cut it close, sometimes failing. However, in a group, the MT usually gets upset at my Butcher's Block (for obvious reasons), so I'm reduced to Path and Eye because the DRK, for example, does not want to use Power Slash due to dps loss. The arguement then is that he don't want to lose dps, but would fuss about my lack of dps.

Having a parser is not required. Personally, I'm no dps god, but I can FEEL when I'm not doing a lot. If I find myself hitting the mob with Aoelian Edge when it's facing us, I know I didn't hit hard because I didn't use Dancing Edge at that point. When I'm on PLD, and in Sword Oath, and getting two to three Royal Authorities before needing to reapply Goring Blade without using Halone after the initial pull and STILL hold hate, I know I did justice.

I've grown to accept that you cannot please anyone but yourself. I didn't understand that until AFTER I dropped NIN to become a PLD and AST after hearing that my NIN dps stinks. Currently, while I main PLD with AST alt, my love is still for my NIN, but I'm burned from the parses that I'll never raid on my NIN again.

They can always add a parser and remove the chat so snowflakes won't cry when someone calls them bad, because they won't be able to. They did it with Feast, so there is no reason to don't do it again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Almost as hilarious as you thinking switching to pc and using a parser made you better.
