5 reasons why PS4 players need a parser in game

1- Every group that raids have at least 1 parser working even if its technically not legal but SE knows players are using parsers and they are not doing anything to stop them.

This wasn't always the case, but I'm seeing more of it now. Groups, not just the leader, is asking for 80 percentile. My problem is, many parses are not uploaded. I FINALLY broke 2.5k dps as NIN in A11S according to the group, but it was not uploaded (I'm on PS4). Some people really want to Raid, but the community puts a lot of pressure there. I'll always stand by my saying: "People want high dps but always fail mechanics, while people who do average dps will always survive the mechanics." Have you seen "farm" parties as of late? There's a high success rate of clear groups becoming farms than farm groups running more than twice.

2- Raid groups always ask for parses when they are looking for members.

Goes back to my statement above, when it sucks that all parses are NOT uploaded.

3- Using "Stone, Sky, Sea" only helps you if you are learning your job and your rotation, we all know DPSing in a fight is way different.

Agreed! I can clear A11S SSS as WAR in Defiance, but that's if I'm spamming Butcher's Block and Storm's Eye. If I do Storm's Eye and Storm's Path, I cut it close, sometimes failing. However, in a group, the MT usually gets upset at my Butcher's Block (for obvious reasons), so I'm reduced to Path and Eye because the DRK, for example, does not want to use Power Slash due to dps loss. The arguement then is that he don't want to lose dps, but would fuss about my lack of dps.

4- Getting better at endgame and optimizing DPS require having a parser running to see your DPS while mechanics are happening, asking your friends or party members about your DPS after the clear won't tell you what you have to work on (I'm talking about small things not messing up your rotation).

Having a parser is not required. Personally, I'm no dps god, but I can FEEL when I'm not doing a lot. If I find myself hitting the mob with Aoelian Edge when it's facing us, I know I didn't hit hard because I didn't use Dancing Edge at that point. When I'm on PLD, and in Sword Oath, and getting two to three Royal Authorities before needing to reapply Goring Blade without using Halone after the initial pull and STILL hold hate, I know I did justice.

I've grown to accept that you cannot please anyone but yourself. I didn't understand that until AFTER I dropped NIN to become a PLD and AST after hearing that my NIN dps stinks. Currently, while I main PLD with AST alt, my love is still for my NIN, but I'm burned from the parses that I'll never raid on my NIN again.
