So I thought I'd try my hand at some Thav Onions in my house gardens. It took two weeks or so to get enough crossbreeds for a plot full, then I planted them about 3-4 days ago as is... Not counting maintenance. And sure enough, even though I watered them right before servers went down, I logged in to a rotted garden. A million gil lost from this asinine oversight.

I have never in my life played an MMO that had time pass while servers weren't even running, and to log back in to this disgusted me enough to not even bother doing anything else. Literally the only way of avoiding this was "Don't touch your garden for an entire week" which is just as ridiculous, especially when there's no reasonable expectation that time would pass while it's not even online. Fix this in the future. Seriously.

Didn't they inform you in like a week advance that the servers are going down during this period?

I had a garden full of Jute that didn't die. I kinda felt stressed thinking that 48 hours of no tending would kill it off, but I made plans to have the crops tended immediately before servers went down, and made sure someone was available to water them again as soon as servers came back though.

its odd i also lost all 14 of my blood peppers (in my fc house) and 8 of my krakka roots, my midland cabbage (my personal home) was smoking but not dead. I even try ed logging in before midnight in hopes to catch them. while i am not upset over the loss of the krakka roots the loss of the blood peppers hurts. Is there anyway to refund the seeds if not the blood peppers themselves?

It was weird, I was planting stuff for Thav onions and most of my plants survived. Just my midland cabbages went bad but everything else was just smoking.

Unfortunately it's always been like this. Planting is a huge gamble with maintenance that long and should just be avoided. I would like to see it changed though, as you shouldn't have to worry about such things when no players have access to the server.

Lost all 3 one my gardens... one was a minion patch and another full of glazenuts

Glad I'm not the only one, although I only lost krakka at my personal house, and was able to save plants at my FC house for one of my FC mates. Shame that my FC leader's theory that plant timers were frozen during maintenance didn't pan out.

Wouldn't really work so well. ok when all the servers go down sure maybe no problems there, but when only a few go down if they stop the clocks on those servers they'd lose sync with the rest.

could end up with things like scrip resets being a few hours or day later on one server than the rest or something like that.
