Hey all! So I noticed a way to dodge those big and seemingly unavoidable AOE's Proto Ultima does and I made a video to share it with you guys! I hope it helps you out in your raids to come!

Interesting find! Will try it out the next time I run DS.
Cheers,

There's a general rule to AOE attacks; You only get hit by the attack when you're in the AOE, and when the attack is finishing with casting (i.e. the cast meter of the enemy is full).
In this case, the initial "wave" is the actual AOE area. The AOE/explosion you're moving into in the video is merely an animation that's shown after the AOE attack is being cast.
Another way to recognize this for nearly any enemy is by keeping an eye on the cast meter of the enemy. If it's still casting and not full, you should stay out of the AOE are. If it has disappeared (because it got full), it's safe to move into the AOE area, even if it's still visible. This one applies to Proto Ultima too; The cast meter has already disappeared when you moved into the "AOE Area".
