Leveling: PotD or MSQ?

HW MSQ progressed nicely until Churning Mists, which gates at 54, and she's about 53.7.

What is the preferred leveling for HW?

I still did PotD for HW leveling when I hit a level lock along the way. I think it was 55 to 56 in my case and the dead of the night so there were no normal dungeon groups to be had.
I remember a round of 51-60 giving around 20% of a level.
Alas I can't remember if this was with the 50% armory bonus or not.

Once you reach level 30ish, the quests start to space out a little, and POTD can help you fill the gaps more quickly.

You can still use PotD for HW levels. Experience is a pretty nice chunk of your leveling bar.

In response to Astrus: EXP bonuses such as armory or food bonuses have no effect on PotD EXP. it's a set amount based on the floor you clear and your current level in-game

Level 55 MSQ. 3 quests. THREE QUESTS.

edit: A full 51-100 PotD clear nets 1.6M at this level

56 to 57 was only 1M short.
57 to 58 was pretty good; only 400k short.
58 to 59... 2.7M short. At 300k per PotD... Sigh.

I think the real lesson here is, Side Quests matter. Do them. And it might be worth running a dungeon a couple times for a gear drop and experience.

Specific side quests are also needed to unlock flying in the HW zones. I think they are marked since some patches.

Yeah, she has been doing those, but only those, class quests, and msq. I have to assume that if you add in the side quests, there is an abundance of experience to be had.

In previous post I said I'll go all for potd, but I think it needs some tweak here and there:

Your first character ever have some priorities, will sort them in order of importance (imo, ofc you can have a different view of it...):

1) Class/Job quests. It is a must-have, because the skill unlocks they give to you. As soon as the next job quest unlocks, stop everything and go to do that;
2) MSQ. Its importance doesn't need be proven. Unlocks a world of features and this is again a must-have, if you're not into a job quest, you are doing the MSQs;
3) Side quests. Today them got their own special marker, you cannot miss any, so many features unlock are behind them so when you are not busy with MSQ or job quests, you do them;
4) When you are underleveled for all of the above (that means, everything locked behind an higher level than yours), you can think of potd as a method for fill the level gap: you can do it until your level is enough to proceed with the above. And in the while, you start collect the aetherpool for the Kinna weapon you will need later.

Not to mention, hunting log and challenge logs exp rewards as alternatives to potd and as something different to do.
