Precisely why I suggest it should be personal only at least for now. Once people come round the benefits of it and realise that hey, it's not automatically going to turn expert into a war zone then perhaps some form of group parsing for premades and such could be considered.

Whilst this is something I'd absolutely love, realistically, I think Yoshida would be more likely to go with a better take on the SSS concept, I made a fairly big post about this a year or so back. The gist of it was to have a DPS dummy mini game in the Gold Saucer akin to SSS but that actually threw mechanics at you (with the idea that failing these would stun you rather than hurt you ofc). That would be a more palatable first step, no ones going to complain about more stuff in the gold saucer and unlike SSS, it'll actually have an incentive for people to play about with it.

Looking back it, rather than figuring out a weighted scale for player DPS vs iLvl, a simple Potency per Second rating for each class would be a much easier way of scoring this whilst also keeping the regular DPS visible so people can feel the effects of their gear upgrades over time.

Personal parser is ok. As I said, personal parser shouldn't be a problem, always it is keep in privacy and people don't demand see other players numbers. My problem is get better rewards for it. Nothing more. Only few choosen players will get more tokens, or special items or whatever just for being good.

Also, what is considered good? The standard of the community is not the standard of the developers. Let's say 3000 DPS is the maximun output possible, for example. A player do 2900 in a dungeon, and he get S rank, but other player do 2500 and get S too. Developers consider 2500 as S because is very good, but players will start complain that S rank should be 2900-3000, and not 2500, because they consider 2500 to low. Then the minimun is 1500 DPS, something like C rank, and SE say that 2000 DPS is A rank or something. Then complaints again. "it is too low", and a 2000 DPS player should get 0 reward.

Standards are difficult to set. Every player has different vision. For me a player capable of deal 2000 DPS is already a very good player for me, for example, but others can say he suck. SE can put some standard values, but community will complain because they have his own.

As far as rewards go, you dont get rewarded by the community. Its not like commends. Its a game system. If you do well you ALWAYS get rewards. That means nobody is left out. Everyone can attain all rewards. Just like tomestones that get passed out after each endgame duty. If you cant play well. Thats what the parser is for. To help you become "good."

But SE still does this for already 3 years. They are called DPS checks and enrage timer.
