PS4 wifi can only operate on 802.1 g protocol.
Can you adjust the router to not operate 802.1 a/b/g or g/n modes? If so, you will see a signal performance improvement (mostly reliability not speed) because the router will not be attempting to switch between the speeds as different devices use the WiFi.
Does the router support dual-band or tri-band transmission? If so, setup an SSID for g only, and another n only ensure the n band is transmitting on 5 GHz and g is on 2.4 GHz to prevent collision.
Additionally, most routers come setup to transmit on channel 6, if there are many other routers in range (e.g. neighbours), you should consider switching to channel 11 to reduce the interference.
