New EU Servers

Since the subject of new EU servers being implemented has sort of been lost amidst all the furor over the data centre relocation, I thought I'd make a thread for players to share their opinions/ plans on the matter.

Are you happy that new servers are being implemented? Does it feel necessary?
Are you interested in transferring, at release or later on?
Are the incentives for transferring enough to interest you, or will you be staying where you are? Why? etc. etc.

The only issue I take with it is that there should be no gil limit for transferring, especially if they hold any hope of older FCs/ communities moving.

It's probably needed.. Even now during the supposedly quiet period, I'm getting the occasional queue when logging on to Phoenix. Character creation has also been difficult on several EU servers for quite a while.

I doubt I'll transfer, unless everyone I know on the server transfers as well.

I honestly did not expect them to create new EU servers.
Zodiark and a few others seem to be open most of the time and highly populated servers like Ragnarok aren't as congested as Balmung.
Maybe they expect a massive wave of new players and want to take preventive measures?

As for me, I do not plan on transfering. Bads are widely spread across the Data Center and a house isn't worth leaving all these people behind.

It's a great idea BUT I don't wanna transfer to a new server I got a few friends waiting for me in another EU server but I cannot move for now until Gil restriction are gone.

Well, from what it looks like the current servers are decently populated, so if there is a noteworthy growth, they might be needed. I wouldn't know. I'd have been more conservative and first opened one, rather than two, though. Consider me indifferent here.

I personally don't intend to transfer - At most I'll make an alt so I can occasionally enjoy some lag-free gameplay.

I brought it up to my fiance, who owns our current FC, he had no idea if he wanted to move or not.

Personally, I would like to, as there's a lot of beef between our FC and a few notable people from our current server, his only worry is the Gil. But it honestly depends on how they handle transferring FCs.

This isn't about the NA servers...
This is about the already announced new EU servers. Not everything is about NA.

Well I'm open to the thought of a transfer but I have a few friends on my current server and it's somewhat known to have quite alot of german speaking people.

I'll see how it will turn out and decide later on if I do. Might start an alt on a new server to see how it eveolves.
