Creating a different character vs lvling alternate classes on same character?

I'd suggest when you move to doing caster, still doing it on your same character. as they'll get the bonus xp from your melee class being top level. Also at 17, there is a quest to unlock Palace of the Dead. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...e/deepdungeon/ This is the best way, currently, to level alternitive classes outside of doing your roulettes (and even then, might be better.) It will also allow you to try out every class til 60 (if you've unlocked their job, every job to 60)

PoTD might be currently the most efficient way to level other classes but I wouldn't call it the best one. It can be good to take some leaps in the levels but I truly recommend running every dungeon at least once when you get on the level to do so, to keep a current understanding of the skills you have gained that far before next hop.
