Petition to Terminate Restrictions on Transfer to “High Population” Servers

In which way? I want to play RP. Balmung is the only server with a real big RP Population. So I personally say "Fuck you Square-Enix, you suck and everything you produced after Final Fantasy 10 sucks" and I think everyone who wanted to play on Balmung for various reasons and got locked out should do the same. If Square wants to lower their population, we should help them.

Be more melodramatic please. If you've been paying attention at all you would know the RP community is already talking about the situation. Specifically about, not only a 2nd unofficial RP server, but collecting data of all the RP communities from the other servers to help people out. I have no personal interest in the RP community and I've had no trouble seeing this between all the QQing.

Everyone who wanted to play on Balmung is exactly the problem. It's not good to have only one server that everyone wants to play on. Not good for that server, and not good for the other servers.

You can surely bet the AFK logout timer will be back in-effect on all servers when 4.0 drops, at-least until traffic stabilizes.

Players from the other high population servers haven't said anything so far. I wonder why?

I honestly can't help you then cause you're being fucking unreasonable. Yes, let's fuck a ton more people because we can't cram anymore people onto this incredibly populated server. Do you know how high the active population is on Balmung in comparison to even the next highest populated? Based on the last UNOFFICIAL census, all 5 of the worlds that are locked are at just about 10,000 people. Some in NA are only 2-5k. SE has a damn good reason to try to even out its active character distribution. They're probably usually seeing issues at 9k actives.

All of the EU worlds are over 4k active. All but 2 are near 7-8k. The others are 4.5k. THAT is why EU is getting new worlds why Japanese and NA data centers are trying to see a level out. We're too jammed in several worlds and hitting critical levels. It's not cost effective to put in MORE MONEY when they really can level out.

This is why the best idea, not the best possible solution, but the most likely one is to try and help foster a second bigger community, especially for RP. It helps with distribution while consolidating smaller communities that wouldn't fail because it relies on key small people or groups. The others in the network can pick it up.

Allow only one character per account on Balmung, remove all the alts. Heavy handed yes, but that's also part of the problem. To what degree idk, but it's a start, we can't simply lock it and leave it

Wow, this post is nothing but salt. If you wanted to RP you should have joined a smaller RP community. or transferred already.

To add up to the FF14Census picture that was shown a few posts earlier, I would like to show up this picture from Lucky Bancho's own census.



I apologize if the picture is too small, as I wasn't sure where to get a bigger one.
It might be hard to see, but from what I garnered on tumblr, it would appear that Balmung's active population is more than 125% the size of Gilgamesh, the 2nd highest populated server on Aether.
This basically means that the size of Balmung's active population is about 3 times bigger than a medium-populated server!
And to add up, Balmung's population is basically bigger than the next two highly populated server combined together!

People might want the character creation and transfer limitation removed, but I don't think they realized how packed Balmung currently is!

At the moment, you can easily expect to wait at least a minute before you log in Balmung at almost any time due to other people logging at the same time.

Now imagine what will happen when Stormblood will be active.
The overall player population will shoot up as newcomers and veterans alike will jump into the game for all the new content.
More players will mean bigger login queues, and for Balmung and the other big servers, it would just make things terrible.

This is why Square-Enix has put this restriction for the time being. Because at the moment, there are just way too many players on Balmung, Gilgamesh and the other highly populated servers. Not putting a block on these servers would actually be detrimental for them when Stormblood will come out.

Obviously, some people are angry about it because they wanted to play with friends, but don't forget that we have a Cross-Server Party Finder system that easily lets you run dungeons, trials and raids together with ease if you are on the same Data Center. And SE intends to improve on this system.

And to all those that really really want to go into Balmung, just be patient. That restriction will be lifted eventually. Just play on another server and if(and I really mean IF) you truly want to jump to Balmung, pay for the server transfer once it becomes available again.

Also, as a reminder that before the restriction was put in place, it was nearly impossible to create a character on Balmung. The only way to make a new one there was by transferring...which is what I did when I joined the game around the time Heavensward came out.

Like I said, just be patient. Just enjoy the game. It may not look like it, but SE is trying their best to make sure the game runs well for everyone as best as possible.
Never forget that FF14 may very well be the only MMORPG ever to have managed to successfully get a 2nd chance at life. SE isn't stupid enough to risk wasting that 2nd chance.
